    Roatan

this island is ok...nothing special....we did the monkey tour... did not care for it... only saw three maybe four monkeys.... they told us we could not bring water or anything with us as it was extremely hot last week...tour was nothing special....the war is still on and anything that happens in Roatan,,, they ship them to the mainland.  this island is very poor.... kids are always around trying to sell you something,,,, jumping at the tour buses trying to sell lighters... would not suggest going out of the port... they hound you everywhere.... watch your purses and wallets also.

    the war is still on

    What war?

No war.  Their heffe tried rewriting their Constitution to allow himself to remain in power after he was required to give it up and the rest of the government said "Nuh UH!" and sent him ... um, "abroad".  There was a bit of pushing and shoving in the capital city about it, but as for unrest, that was about it.

Poverty, yes they have that in spades.  If you can't say "no" to kids hounding you then you might as well lock yourself in your own basement.  The best part is, the Spanish word for "no" is very similar to the English word.

    "No".

Or, to be polite about it, "Gracias, no".

    De nada.

Desperately seeking 10th cruise for the free laundry.
