Looking to meet new friends.  Is anyone else?

My wife, daughter 8 and I will be on the Valor that week too.  We will be with a group of 17 other friends and family.  Always interested to see who else will be on the cruise.

 Can't wait to get out of the cold for a week in Jan / Feb.

We are looking for warm weather too.  If you haven't cruised b4, look for the "off" ship excursions like I am - we will save ALOT of money so that we can zip line at every stop.  Wow what a group u are going with.........did you reserve an entire deck?  :)

Where are you looking for the "off" ship excursions?  We have not tried that before, although we probably should have considering this will be our 8th Cruise.  Traditionally we have booked excursions through Carnival.

We too have only done excursions thru Carnival but this time we want to try something different.  Dependent on what you want to do I simply typed Ziplining in Belize (or whatever you want to do) and I get "private" companies offering the same thing Carnival does (thru the same complany) only for less $$.  I'm being certain they deliver us to & from the ship & if I have further questions I send them an email.  I don't want to book them until I put in my final payment for the cruise.....which is next month.  :)  I adore a cruise........not to mention look forward to embracing the casino :), but this time we want to see what everyone else says we have been missing by booking them ourselves.

Yep, love to play Craps in the Casino.  Not a lot of casinos in Minnesota, so we like to play some. 

 We are trying to find an excusion in Belize for a powered underwater snorkel trip.  I have not seen it available from Carnival yet, but will look for it elsewhere.  I heard it is available there.

Hi Mike!  I'm all set for our cruise.  Hope other people get on the Carnival Connections to talk to us or else I'm starting to feel like we will have the ship to ourselves. I have confirmed the following for our cruize:

• Parasailing in Grand Cayman
• Zip Lining in Isla Roatan
• Zip Lining & Cave Tubing in Belize
• Zip Lining & seeing the Tulum Ruins in Cozumel

Boy am I going to be stepping out of my comfort zone; as I've never zip lined before but my guys  talked me into it. Did you get all your excursions plotted out?  Talk to you later.

We have never been zip lining before either.  Not sure it is for me.  Not crazy about heights.

 We are still trying to figure out what we want to do.  I looked at the link you sent, but did not see exactly what we were looking for.  I will keep looking.  I heard that there are some kind of water scooters or powered snorkeling trips on Belize.

 I am guessing we will see some more traffic as the cruse gets a little closer.  There is also a Roll Call for the Valor for this date on CruiseCritic.com.  There is a little more traffic there, but not much.

Newsflash...........I don't like heights either.  I saw the below from a message board about your water scooters.  How about being bold with us and tring the Zip Line?  :)   I thought the CruiseCritic was "after" the cruise to chat about the trip. I'll have to check it out - any certain place I should go?  What are the other 17 people in your party going to do?

You can roundtrip scooter from Ambergris Caye out to the barrier reef, but just barely with a 50min x-scooter battery. 120min+ battery recommended. There is heavy boat traffic overhead when scooting inside the reef.....dicy. And the best diving is well outside the reef. Take a boat!

Our group is still trying to figure out what we want to do.  I am guessing we will be going our own way alot, as it would be impossilbe to please all of us at the same time.  We are now up to 22 of us ranging in age from 5 to 80.

Not sure about ziplining.  I will have to consider whether I am brave enough to try it.

 There are currently two different Roll Calls at cruisecritic.com for the 01/31/2010 sailing.  You will have to sign up at cruisecritic to see the roll calls, but once you do, they are listed by cruise line and then by ship.

so glad people are finally responding! I started a thread in august, but nobody every answered me. There is a pretty active roll call for this cruise on cruise critic. Getting pretty excited now that we are under 90 days to sail! Just me and my hubby going on this cruise. Hope to meet up with some folks for a meet and greet. Lisa

Hi Lisa!  My husband & I as well as my 23-yr son are going on the 31st.  As much 'threading' as I have been doing waiting for others to respond to me about the 31st I feel like I could have sewn a blanket by now.  :)  I have been on the countdown since I put in my reservations - starting my countdown at 118 dayz.  Isn't the Cruise Critic the "after the cruise" response area?  I've been on the other one.
