I cruise on October 11th. Has anyone heard how the political unrest in Honduras has affected Roatan. Sounds like borders are closed on the mainland and curfews are happening. Roatan is the only port on my intinerary that I haven't visited before. really wished Zelaya woulda put off trying to reclaim the presidency for another 3 weerks or so ....

We just returned from Roatan on Sept 6th cruise on carnival legend.............no signs of any unrest at all.. We booked a excursion through carnival monkey birds, etc. and had a great time.........Our tour guide was saying that Honduras and Roatan are worlds apart, just because it maybe unsafe at Honduras you are safe at Roatan we need you here for our economy.........this was our tour guides words not mine.......no armed guards at all.......relax and enjoy we sure did.

As you may or may not know, the deposed el Presidente has returned to Honduras and has been allowed to return to power after negotiating with the members of the government who deposed him.  This most likely means that he won't be attempting to rewrite the Constitution to suit his personal desires any longer, but what it means for travellers is that whatever crisis it was has virtually ended.
