Kudos to you. I don't believe I could get over the cultural culinary hurdles to sample them. Someone on here did send pics of some of the dishes they encountered on a Carnival ship and one of the dishes was escargot. I can't remember how it was prepared but it looked "mighty tasty".

Hey....I'm from Ohio!  How about those Browns?  LOL  Let's not talk about it.  Well, gang...less than 30 days...but who's counting?  Still need to get my Fun Pass stuff filled out and start thinking about what clothes to take...and promise myself not to overpack like I usually do.  Going it alone..so no one to help me carry stuff.  So...I better think simple and light!  Hope those Mojitos are good on the ship.  Someone else told me they are really good.  Great...all I need is one more addiction to add to cruising!

The Queen Bee is the the Saints fanatic in this place. Actually NFL fan.

I'm going to bring my customary 8 "knockaround" shirts a few jeans and shorts five dress slacks and dress shirts and about four ties and 1 sport coat(elegant night).

All of that fits in a 29' "trolley" suitcase.

The Queen Bee says I take too much; but what the heck? It only comes once or twice a year.

You're gonna love the mojitos I can taste them already!

Also trying not to over-extend so we can splurge on the cruise.

Add six more to the roll call!  Yippee!!!  I'm so ready, it shouldn't be legal!

Anywho, it'll be me (Andrea - 39 year old single mom of two), my two children (Sean - 12 and Kenzie - 10), my baby brother (Jimmy - 29 year old single dude with no kids), and our parents (James - 60-something and Susan 60-something).

I'm a veteran cruiser with 3 Carnival trips under my belt, but the other five are all cruise-virgins with no clue what to expect (which makes it really, really fun for a teaser like me).  I know we've got about 30 on the Cruise Critic roll call and don't see any duplicates on this list yet, so I guess we'll be sailing with a about 50 passengers. 

I was hoping to find some other pre-teens my kids' ages who'll be going on this trip as well, since they'll be in separate groups (one Camp Carnival and one Circle C), which isn't a bad thing since their mission in life is to irritate each other (irritating me the most - lol).  Seriously, though, they're both great kids who love making new friends and I'm hoping there will be at least a handful of kids for them to meet.  I know there won't be nearly as many as there would be if school were not currently still going on, but a girl can hope, right?

Well, sort of.  I have my toiletries ready and my little quart bag ready for airport security!!  Now the clothes.  Decisions, decisions.  Anyone know how warm it might be down in New Orleans in December?

Penny, being the Gulf Coast, it could be 45 degrees or it could be 80!  LOL.  It's better to wait until the week before, then stalk the Weather Channel for a few days, then pack!  Otherwise, think "layers".  When you're cold, you can always add a few, but when you're hot, you can't exactly get naked without getting arrested (outside of Mardi Gras, anyway)! 

Haven't started yet but my list is long.

Queen Bee is starting to put little things in a pile on the dresser.

27 Days.  Anyone started packing yet, lol

Went on a quick 4 night cruise to Cozumel Sept. 24th on Fantasy out of N.O. before she left for Mobile so just didn't "unpack" much after that cruise.  We have a spare bedroom which comes in handy when I want to leave suitcases, etc. out.  My sister and her husband go on their first cruise with us Dec. 7th so that is always excting.  This will be our 4th cruise - all with Carnival - and we only started cruising March, 2008.  Became cruise addicts after the 1st time.............. Anyone know if the bathrooms have storage like the Conquest class ships?  Our over the door shoe bag came in very handy on the Fantasy as it only had a small shelf above the bathroom sink.  We sailed the Conquest out of Galveston the 1st two cruises so Fantasy was different but enjoyable.
