We were on the ship earlier in the month in '05.  Maybe the 10-17th (something like that)

That'll be great to get the boys together - Hunter will love to have a new buddy!

Hello everyone! We will also be on the Conquest on the 20th...it's our 1st cruise. It will be me, hubby and our 25 yr. old son. I had no idea there was so much preparation for a cruise... lol...I feel so behind the game already. I have a million questions just about the shore excursions alone! Is it just me or does it seem like this roll call is very, very empty compared to the others? I look forward to chatting with you all in the days ahead... Lori

Thanks Lori, I am hoping to set something up once I get an idea of how many of us there are. I've also noticed that there is a Roll Call for this cruise on CruiseCritic as well. However, I could never get anybody to reply to my postings. I believe they are planning a "meet and greet" and I will be checking back and forth to see where they are having theirs and we can crash in LOL!!! We will be coming from about the same distance. We are coming from Ft. Worth.

Hello again...We're practically neighbors! lol I did see the other roll call, I even posted! It does have more people on it but I don't think they acknowledge posts unless asked a direct question! I haven't tested that theory yet tho......I'm just going to keep chatting on that post and this one and see what happens! Maybe the party is just starting up at the last minute for this cruise! We've confirmed at the HI and are going down the night before..are you driving down the day of or the night before too? I think a bunch of 'us' will be at this hotel...I'm hoping so anyway... *********************************************************************************************************** I'd also love to make some spa appts, but I don't know when the formal night are.....Does anyone out there know how to find out? I'd appreciate the input!! 43 days!! Happy Cruising! aka...me Lori

Hey Lori...have you started packing yet? As you can tell from my posts, I'm already packed, just need to reorganize. I saw a checklist last night and I'm going to compare mine to theirs and redo my suitcase. I'm not sure when the formal nights are but we have the last day at sea scheduled for our renewal ceremony. I'm getting so excited and I am praying that everyone would stay healthy until "after" the cruise!

I see that some people on Cruisecritic have listed Sunset Beach as one of their to-do's for Montego Bay but I don't see it listed as an excursion. Does anyone know where this is? Is it something that we sign up for or it is a local beach nearby? I'm trying to decide what we can do after the Highlights tour.

Hi Mark--Thanks for the info, that really helps. Looking forward to seeing you at the HI!!--It will be nice to meet some other people before we even get to the ship! ************ Lil Moma I don't know about Sunset Beach...but I would like to know as well. We have a free morning there and my son has said he'd like some beach time if possible . I, too, have seen it mentioned ... Anybody??? I have read warnings about booking things too close together -- so watch that---make sure you leave enough time between excursions. When does the Highlights tour finish? I can't seem to be able to get to that page today--keeps giving me an error! I haven't packed a thing...I haven't even made my list yet! And O yes, I am a list gal...lol....I've used the interactive one online for years!!! It's great. aka...me--Lori

Lori, I'm not sure about Sunset Brach, but I've looked into it a little and it looks pretty nice. I'll ask my cruise expert at work tomorrow what she knows about it. It's REALLY. Close to the ship. Do you have a link for this online list? Thanks! Mark

Thanks Lori...believe me, I am one to make sure that we have enough time, especially to get back to the ship. The highlights tour is only 3.5 hrs long, so we have about 2-3 hrs of free time left. I'm thinking that if we do that the first thing between 9-9:30, that we should be back by 12:30 or 1 and I plan on making it back to the ship by 3.

Hey Mark, I found this by doing a search on cruise talk:

If you've done everything that you want to do in Montego Bay or just ooking for a relaxing day then try Sunset Beach Resort (http://www.sunsetbeachjamaica.com/).  They have day passes for cruisers.  They have went up since we were there becaue now they have a waterpark.  I beleive someone told me adults are $40. now (not sure about children) - but well worth every penny.  Taxi is about $3.00 per person from the pier.  You show your S&S card at the desk and they give you a towel voucher (not sure what they do for the water park) and you are on your way.  It is an all-inclusive so the price includes food, drink, watertoys (nothing motorized - they are in a protected area), board games, pool table, ping-pong table, putt-putt golf, basketball and of course the water park.  They also have 2 pools - may have more now with the waterpark.  Fun day.

    Re: Roll Call: CONQUEST 12/20/09

Hey folks, I'm one of the cruise critic people that are going to Sunset Beach resort.  I've been there before in Dec '05.  It's not a Carnival excursion.  When we got off the Conquest in Mo'bay, we hopped on a shuttle to go to a shopping area. We went in a few shops and weren't real impressed, so we grabbed a cab told the driver we wanted to go to Sunset beach resort and before we knew it, we were there.  From what I remember you DO have to relinquish your S&S card and get it back when you leave.  Not sure why, but there is a cruise passenger discount and you have to prove you are from a cruise.

The same driver was supposed to pick us up that afternoon at a specific time, but he was running late (passed him on the way back) and I was getting antsy about getting back to the ship.  Anyway there were plenty of cabs to get us back to the ship.

As for Sunset Beach itself, we loved it enough to go back this time.  Plenty for us to do, ok food(realize it's not gourmet quality), and open bar.
