Day passes at British Colonial - Nassau

Has anyone ever done the day pass at the British Colonial? I contacted the hotel. Said it was $40/person which includes access to the beach, pool, chairs, towels, and a $30 food/drink coupon.

I'd love any answers to this too, as I'd like to do it next month...

It seems "odd" that out of $40 they'd give you $30 worth of drinks - kind of like "too good to be true" type of thing, and I'd really like to know if it actually is good.

I've stayed there before, but MANY years ago (1994) before it was Hilton, and the beach was in a good location to the cruise ships (we walked over to see if a certain cruise director was on board that I had, uh, met, years before).  Nice quick walk.

We did this last year but we reserved it online http://www.bahamascruiseexcursions.com/NassauHiltonResortPass.htm to make sure they would have space for us.  We thought it was a great deal.  The resort is really nice and so was the beach, pool etc. It was nice to be able to order whatever we wanted and get great drinks.  I think it was worth it, location was perfect and my sister had two young kids, they were free which was really nice:-)
