    Terrible Excursion here

Don't waste your money on the Mayan Jungle Explorer excursion.  It really sucks and is a waste of money unless you like to ride worn out cr*ppy bikes and be verbally abused by the tour guide.  Stay on the boat that day, everything will be better!!!!

I agree with Supra Sam, stay on boat and catch up with what youve  missed. ie: spa, pool, sauna etc. this port isnt worth the port.

I must say that I highly disagree.  Not with the Excursion but with the Port.  I would not waste my time on an excursion and miss Playa.  This is by far my favorite Port of the Western Caribbean.  Unlike more developed tourist cities; Playa is still somewhat original.  I have always just went there and took in the town and scenery.  I will be cruising again around 41 days and the only downfall is that I'm going to miss Playa. I will be visiting Cozumel which is ok but just another modern day development for tourists unless you dive.  This port makes the cruise for me.

Calica was not all that bad, we opted to go to the town by cab ride $20. one way, and like a E ticket ride at Disney, but we got there. Lot of shopping and beach in town, everyone we know that did some of the tours did not have a lot of good to say. At  Couzmel ther is port shopping just like all other ports, nothing different here, you might want to go to town there also. There is a great beach area at the port of Cozumel.Have Fun, Ron

We went to the Rio Secreeto excursion through http://www.cozumel-watersports.com/Tours/RioSecreto.htm , which is not offered by Carnival, first time we did Tulum and it was also just fantastic. Although we did not like the port itself, the natural wonders you get to see from Calica are awesome, Playa is just a little dream. Well next cruise we will visit Cozumel and check out the Mayan Ruins there.

Joseph, you don't have to miss Playa del Carmen. There are ferries every hour from Cozumel for $6  per person.
