Nearest Beach in the Cayman Island

I would like to know, how far is the nearest beach in the Cayman Island to the cruise ship.  We will be sailing on the Conquest, the 6th of December.  Thank you, John Cates

We took a taxi to 7 mile beach from the pier. It was about $4 / person, you can haggle with them,. The beach is fairly close. The part they dropped us off at was the same place that they dropped off the people for the excursion which was $29 / person. They have a bar there, chairs for rent, umbrella's, water sports, etc.

    Happy cruising!

Technically, there's a TINY strip of sand about 4 blocks south of the tender pier at the Paradise Restaurant - here's a photo of it!  Other than this, Royal Palms is the southernmost part of 7 mile and is about 2 miles north of the tender pier.  They have beach chair rentals for $5 each, lockers for $4 each, jet skis (not sure how much) and LOTS of cabs and busses coming and going all the time.  Also is a small beach bar and grill for food and drinks right there.

Hello, Luv 2 Float, thank you for responding and the information. Not that I  would use this beach.  The Palms Grill sounds and looks better; however, I did enjoy the picture.  A picture is worth a 1000 words.  Thank you again, John

We took a taxi to the public beach. It was wide, clean, had chairs for rent and best of all FREE.Since we had beach towels and brought water,it only cost us the price of the taxi ride. Have a great cruise.

My boyfriend and I stopped at Cayman on our Carnival Legend cruise in March and LOVED every second we spent there!  We got off the ship and took a 5 minute taxi ride to 7 mile beach (BEAUTIFUL) and we spent the day there snorkeling and drinking.  We rented snorkels for $5.00 each and got to use them for the whole day.  When we decided to go back to the ship, we actually walked back along the beach and through the city (for FREE) and stopped at the Margaritaville for nachoes and a margarita before boarding back on our boat.  Best stop on our whole cruise!  HAVE FUN, we're very jealous!

You looking for suggestions as to which Carnival ship for the cruise you are planning for June 2010? Do you have a preference as to Eastern or Western Caribbean? Lets start with the itinerary which might be of the most interest to you? Does this seem like a good place to start? Any ports of call you wish to visit? Rob While I am certainly not an expert, I just returned from my 9th Carnival cruise. It was my 3rd time on the Glory.
