Awesome! I really wanted to book the cave tubing in Belize, which is no longer offered through Carnival.

I booked cave tubing with Major Tom for our 9/20 sailing on Legend. Major Tom gave specific instructions to take the first tenders off the ship, so I contacted Carnival for specific instructions about how to do this and this is where all my info comes from. Happy sailing and tubing!

The reason Carnival doesn't offer this excursion is because a passenger drowned on it. If you still want to check on it here is a link.

This is true, but the outfit offering the excursion where this happened was VERY reckless. Major Tom has an excellent safety record. His site is Major Tom.

I was looking at Major Tom and also cave-tubing.com, since they have an option to include ATVing and tubing.

I also looked at both, but chose Major Tom for a couple of reasons. One was a couple of complaints that I read about MT canceling tours because the water was too high. I like the guy that errs on the side of safety. Also because this is a long tour and MT has great fail-safes in place to get you back to the boat - first he has extra vans on call in case there is a breakdown and second he has his own tender so if you do miss the last tender, he can take you to the ship.

    Re: What is tender?

Both times DH and I went to Belize, we did cave tubing with Major Tom and Tom, Jr.  The first thing they asked was what time you have to be back on the ship.  The second time we went we were running late so MT decided we were not going to stop for lunch.  He's fully aware and responsible about getting you back on time.  On our first trip, a group from cave tubing dot com was behind us and the guide was encouraging the riders to scream in the caves.  Very rude and annoying.  I would never use that company!!!  The Legend is a beautiful ship (I'm partial to it, got married on it!!)  Have a wonderful cruise.
