    HOTEL

I have reservation at the Holiday Inn at Belligrath (?) Gardens, but was told by someone that it is quite a distance from the terminal.  Thinking about changing to the LaQuinta Inn west of I-65.  Could anyone give me any information. I would be driving to the dock to park in parking deck if I stay at LaQuinta.

We stayed at Holiday Inn Express in Saraland, appox 9 miles North of Mobile. We picked this one because it is a new hotel, about 6 months in operation. It is right on the Interstate, pull out of the parking lot and your back on the interstate and heading in the correct direction. Only thing was not much to do, wal-mart,waffle house, fuel station with a subway inside, ruby tuesday or fridays--cant remember. Other than that the hotel was great, service was top notch. I also thought the price was ok, we had a suite for the five of us, two king beds, sofa that made into a double bed, mini kitchen area--no stove, nice large bathroom. It also had two large bay windows.

We also have reservations at the Holiday Inn, Bellingrath  for the night before our Aug. 29 cruise.  We are flying in from Kansas and this was a Hotel that had a free shuttle from airport and to the cruise terminal.  This worked out for us (at least on paper)  I will know more for certain afterwardsSurprise!  We figured we needed a place to stay and restSleep  The shuttles were just icing on the cake!  Doing the Carnival/airport transfer post-cruise.   ~  T

Smile Deputy Dawg,  How sweet it is!  My mother was asking about the Chocalate Melting Cake, "Just what is it?"  I could only tell her she would probably have 5 of them during our cruise!Wink However, if she wanted more, she could.  She would just have to take the stairs more often!Surprise   ~  T

The only way I can tell people is either a brownie that has a warm creamy center or sweet chocolate pudding center with a brownie on top. Either way as you know it's GOOOODDDDD!

    Re: HOTEL

We stayed at this hotel in May for our cruise on Holiday. It is about 20 minute drive to the port from the hotel. The savings on the parking at the port more than made up for the drive to port. We caught shuttle around 11:15 and were eating lunch on Lido deck by 12:15. The rooms were very nice and the staff was excellent. Restaurant in the hotel for breakfast was adequate but for dinner was kinda lacking. We already have reservation for cruise end of November for this same hotel.

Hey Diva C, not sure if you like military history or not but there is a Best Western Battleship Inn 2701 Battleship Parkway close the the Battleship Al.  We were going to do this after our last cruise and was unable.  Making plans to do this for next summer after our cruise

So, what was your opinion of this hotel?  I just made a reservation there for the night before our Oct. 5th cruise.  I've read some excellent reviews for it and some pretty lousy reviews for it, so I don't really know what to expect.  Thanks.

    Re: HOTEL

Thanks D.D., we are looking for something centrally located so that we can take in a bit of the bama life the afternoon we get off of the cruise, and this sounds like fun. If you know of others I would like to have a few options.

    Thank you...
