    1st time out of jacksonville

    Good afternoon fellow cruisers,

This is our first time heading out of Jacksonville and would really appreciate any comments/suggestions concerning the port.

    1.  Is it easy to find?

    2.  Is the luggage drop off area clearly marked?

    3.  Is the parking deck far from where the ship is at?

    4.  Concerning the parking deck, do they take cash/credit/debit/checks?

We are cruising on the Fascination.  We chose this cruise because my in-laws will be joining us for their first cruise and we thought a older ship w a shorter cruise itenerary would be perfect for them to start out with.  Once again, any comments/suggestions on the Fascination would be appreciated!!!!

Hey, is it true if you buy a specialty drink you get a $5.00 credit in the casino?

Thanx and everyone have a great rest of the weekend!!!!!

I have sailed on the Fascination out of Jacksonville twice now. Once we took a hotel shuttle and the last time we just drove to the port. It is very easy to find and clearly marked along the route. There is no parking deck, it is just a lot and it is right next to the ship and terminal. It is very easy to drop off your luggege if you want to. If not then there are porters with golf carts in the parking lot to take it for you when you park. I think they take everything (minus a check). Jaxport is very easy to get in and out of. Have a great cruise!

Easiest port we've gone out of yet. You can see the ship from the highway, and the highway is well marked all the way to the port.

We paid cash for parking, but I'm fairly certain you'll be able to use your ATM/credit card. It was about 100 yards walking distance from the parking lot to the terminal.

If they do give a $5 credit, we've lost out on about $1000 in credits. LOL

    Have fun.

I have to agree with BJHall. Jaxport is by far the easiest port I have ever sailed out of. Disembarking was pretty easy as well.

We are also sailing out the 3rd.  This will be my inlaws first (yes they are great people to get along with) and we picked this cruise since it is a smaller ship and a easy intinerary.  If you hear a tall 83 year old man talking extremely loud, that is my father in law!!!!

    53 more days and counting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jaxport is one of the easiest ports to get to.  Very clearly marked as to where the port is, where to drop off luggage and where to park.  It does have a big parking lot that is fenced and lighted as well as security 24 hrs.  We've sailed from there three times, twice on the Celebration, and we miss her dearly and once on the Fascination.  Since we live in Jacksonville it's a very easy choice for us.  I'm looking at the Half Moon Cay, Nassau itinerary for the near future.  Boarding is a breeze as well as disembarking.  Enjoy your cruise.
