Re: Anyone do the Isla Pasion by Twister?

I don't think it does - the lady who greeted us at the island never indicated that you could go back early.  I had wondered if you could just book the Twister boat itself independently & not even go to the island - you could try doing a google search on Twister boat in Cozumel.  Time on the island seemed about right to me - I would have been fine leaving about 30 minutes before we did, but it was still fine.  I think if you are using the trampoline & kayaks & paddle boats you'll use every bit of the time spent at the beach.

My DH and I also booked this excursion (going in September). We were wondering if the boat travels back and forth throughout the day (like a shuttle) if you don't wish to stay on the island that long or do you have the spend the entire time there and leave with everyone else?

CruiseJunkie75:  Yes, you can leave early but it won't be on the Twister and it cost extra.  It's a boat taxi thingy that takes you to land.  It's a five minute ride and then you have to pay for a taxi 20 minutes back to town.  We left early and went to Margaritaville.  The taxi cab ride alone was an adventureSurprise

I was thinking about booking this excursion for my upcoming trip, but I had a few questions. What types of beer are available from the open bar?  Do the water trampoline and paddle boats cost extra?  If so, how much?

I've been to Passion Island 3 times, once by Twister boat.  I'll go by Twister the next time.  The bus ride the other two times was long and uncomfortable.  The boat is lots of fun!!!

The trampoline & paddle boats are included at no extra charge.  I'm not a beer drinker, so I have no idea what was available beer-wise.  Hopefully someone else will know.

We just returned from the Holiday Cruise 8-29-09, and we had a blast on the Twister - Isla Pasion cruise.  The open bar seemed to have a good variety of booze, although I drank magritas.  The mexican buffet was yummy......the beach was amazing.  The trampoline is free, the kayaking is included.....I think.   There was also another bar - hut you could purchase other alcohol and beer from.  Massages were expensive.

They had 3 huts for shopping which was cool.

We were there in May and it was awesome... Highly recommended!  You do have to stay and leave with your group.  No shuttle back and forth.  However, that was not an issue for us... we didn't want to leave it was so beautiful and relaxing.

So, the boat ride is really, really fun & not for those with back problems.

Nice review Deanna, thanks. Anyone know if there is alternative transport via Carnival excursion?

Do you remember how much the taxi was?

Also,   I am taking my 16 year old son and his 15 year old girlfriend. Do you think the island is safe enough to let them kinda do their own thing? ie.:kayak, paddle boats, etc. My son can't be cool hangin with Mom....lol

    Have a good one!

I don't know about the water taxi, but as long as your son stays within the boundaries indicated by your host on the island, he should be fine.

Re: Anyone do the Isla Pasion by Twister?

My husband and I have been on in excess of 40 ship excursions.  This one was, BY FAR, the best.  Enjoyed the 1/2 hour boat ride to the island and the twists/turns you do when you get to the bay by the island are unbelievable.  They are repeated when you board Twister to come back to the ship.  We were there in September 09 and there were no bugs.  Ocean was warm, beach was beautiful and we enjoyed the "all inclusive" nature of the excursion.  We loved it so much that we're travelling to Cozumel on The Glory in January 2010 with friends (11 of us in total) and all of us planned on taking this excursion.  We were extremely disappointed to see that it is not being offered through the ship so we are now trying to book privately.  We would do this excusion again and again and again.  From our perspective, it's now the only thing to do in Cozumel!
