Just curious, did you two forget a child, albeit an eighteen year old one, asked the question? She just wanted to know if she could spend time, in a teen club, with her younger family member. In most states she is not old enough for anything til at least 19. In alabama she couldn't even get a checking account! On another blog someone was telling a parent how to sneek a "not yet eighteen yr old" into the adult club. Personally, I would rather see this girl in the teen club than the other way around. And yes, I have three children two are adults and one is fifteen. The 25yr old and 15 yr old are sailing with me next week.
I'm sorry, I still don't understand what you said. 18 year old is not a child. They can go to war, carry a gun, sign all legal documents, have full legal charge of their life, take out loans, and be arrested, for hanging out with minor children. No, I would rather my 18 year old hang with the adults, and leave the kid places to the kids. Sorry, but until you accept your children are not longer children, you will not understand. No, 19 is not a legal age, 18 is in all 50 states. Carnival follows strict policies for a reason, and yes, you may sneak a 17 year old into a club, but on the last cruise, I saw on 3 separate occasions, the "bouncer" check id's and I was extremely impressed. On one occasion, two young girls were sent out.
We are not here to argue this, but rather answer the simple question for the young person that answered it. The policy, is that adults can not hang out in the kid's club, even if they are siblings involved. I hope the 18 year olds understand the importance of reaching the "age of majority", and the importance of the responsibilities that come with it, regardless of whether, one likes it or not, or feels that it is fair. Carnival, as well as a cruise lines, must take the necessary steps to protect themselves, and the trust, most parents place on them, to keep their kids as safe as possible.
I sincely hope Carnival, as well as the cruising industry, continues with their policies, and inforces them at all levels.
