Carnival just does not have a lot of excursions suitable for handicapped cruisers yet. Are any of your ports tendered? If so, you must take a portable wheelchair with you. The scooter will not be allowed on any tender or bus and you can rent portables from a local medical supply store for about 40 a month, maybe less for 2 weeks. I find that if we take both a portable and electric wheelchair, it's a pretty good combo that will allow DH to enjoy most of the "one-walking person" tagged excursions but we usually do not go with the Carnival group because he can't climb the big steps onto the bus and they have no place for the chair. Do some Internet research. Put in the port and "handicapped" and only correspond with tours that have a decent website for your own protection. Do not rely on getting off the ship and bargaining with a taxi driver - make your arrangements in advance to ensure your safety and a set price. However, you'll be quite safe in Key West, Nassau, and Freeport. I have not been to Cozumel but I would be careful there.
Good luck!
