The Hilton has a safe lot but I would be wary of other Hotels. Galveston is not a place I would leave my car unless there were a fenced and secured lot.

We have left our car at the Super 8 and would do it again, no problem at all.  They were super friendly and helped us out with details.  Plus we had more money to spend on what we wanted to spend it on!  If you are looking for a clean, comfie room and not the experience of staying in a hotel....I would check it out.

    Maxpilot,

Yes, that's the one.  I am not exactly sure about how to arrange for pick-up on return.  Actually, my brother-in-law handles all that.  I think he just calls the hotel when we are debarking, to let them know. We have not had to wait very long either time.  15-20 minutes, maybe?  I will try to remember to ask him how he does it and let you know.

    Maxpilot,

I checked, and all you have to do on return is call them and let them know you are ready.  Just get the number you need to call and keep it or program it in your cell phone.  While debarking, call and let them know or wait until you clear customs.  Whichever works best for you.  They usually send someone pretty quickly.  Like I said, I don't think we've waited more than 15-20 minutes max.

The lot is very secure, in fact the last time we used it there was a car in the lot that someone had left a window down.  The hotel sealed it with plastic and tape and called the owner before they sailed to let them know what they had done.  We thought that was pretty nice of them.

     Thanks Nanny.

Maybe I will see you in the lot next April while parking.

Nanny, it was your posting on page 1 of this board that was the determining factor for my making our reservations at the Hilton the night before our upcoming departure.  It's affordable for us and the parking sounds PERFECT!!!

Thanks so much for your help!!!  YesCool
