    Kathy,

Can you also forward the upgrade email to kdjturner@sbcglobal.net as I am seeing some great last minute deals and want to see if I can upgrade also.

Currently, on the Carnival website, I can get a balcony for only $45 more per person and we currently have an inside cabin.  I thought it would be worth calling the number and seeing if I can get an even better deal from someone who does the upgrades on a regular basis rather than just calling the main Carnival reservation number.

Thank you and see you all soon.

Wasn't it a phone # to call in?

If so, the offer may have expired but based on how many cabins are still available, I may be able to call and talk to somebody about another deal. It's worth a chance on my part if you still have the number.

Traveling this time of year, there is always a chance of a storm.  The cruise ship can easily navigate around it.  The worst thing would be water in Cozumel not being perfectly crystal clear, but still beautiful.  The temp might be a degree cooler and maybe more wind.  Last time we hit a storm in the Gulf and it was not scary, but kind of exciting when those stabilizers kicked in, we all stumbled and turned and looked at one another, and then we all exclaimed, "It's the boat, I'm not drunk"!   It was hysterical, we all laughed until we were in tears....sooooo stay excited, it'll still be a blast!!!!!!

Last November I purchased on the boat (fantasy).  Seems like it was around 6 1/2 to 7 hours, we had a little time left over to shop in Progresso.  I recommend everyone take a excursion in Progresso.  My son thought there would be really nice beaches....not so much.  The last two times in Progresso we've taken excursions.....and they were wonderful!!!!  Uxmal was beautiful!  We went straight from the boat to the bus and were on our way, came back and went shopping.

Do we need to eat luch before we get on board ib NOLA? Is there food available before the ship sails? I know there is some of the best food in the world in New Orleans, but I would rather not have to go through the hassle of parking, eating lunch then dropping off bags, parkings again and then board.

That's a newbie mistake.  I know that because we eat lunch beofre we got on our first cruise.  They will have the grill open first thing and as more people get on they will open up more station.  Usually the pizza is up and running.  Come with an appetite.

No, you don't have to eat before you get on the ship.  There is plenty of food ready for lunch when you board the ship.  You have the buffet on the Lido deck.  It's almost here we can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow - I'm stuck at work. ONE person can't seem to get their stuff together so I can leave.  I've been here an extra 1.5 hours (at least it's at time and a half).

    CALGON take me away.

We sail is 21 days!  I have a few questions for those seasoned cruisers.  What time should we get to the ship to embark?  We are staying at the Courtland by Marriot on the riverfront.  Looked like we could walk to the pier, so that's what we are planning on doing.  Once we check in and they assign us our cards can we go to our room?  We can explore the ship, right?  I should print my documents out and I bet I'd find the answers!  Can't wait to meet all of you !

Wife and I cruised the Fantasy July 6, 2009.  We parked at the Port of NO parking garage.  Worked for us.  We were in the embarkation area by about 9:45 sitting.  No crowd, but a bit to early to arrive.  They will not start boarding till about 11:30AM or 11:45AM.

Yes, do print out your Sign & Sail doc to present to the CCL Check In Desk.  Have your photo ID, or Passport along with the credit card you listed on your Sign & Sail doc.

Once you get on board and have your Sign & Sail card scaned with your photo at the scanner, take your bags and head to the Lido Deck and enjoy lunch.  The buffett is is full swing along with the hamburger bar.  By 1:30PM your room should be ready and you can drop off your carry on bags.  Your check in bags will start arriving around 4PM. . .depending on which deck you stateroom in located.

When the ship departs, it is about 6-7 hours of crusing down the Mississippi river to the head waters of the Gulf. Of course, it wll be dark and you'll only be seeing lights along the river banks.

FYI If you like your brand of soda drinks like. . .Dr. Pepper, bottled water and such, pick up a 12 pack or two and carry them on with you through security and boarding process.  Note: you can't take any container through security that is OPEN.  So, just carry them on in the wrap they came in when you bought them.

True - so very true.  I was there an extra 3.5 hours.  Talk about the power trip this person is on.  Made everyone wait.

Well - I'm having an issue with my packing.  Too much stuff.  Since we are the only ones in our little group driving I volunteered to bring everyone's wine/champagne. Then there is the matter of birthday stuff for my GF's daughter. I was going to try and bring my snorkel stuff - oh and there's the new clothes I bought yesterday (got some great deals).

Anyone else running into the same problem?
