We sail on July 13th also, but booked our cruis pretty late and only had late dining and open dining to choose from. We chose the late dining option because I wasn't entirely sure how the open dining worked and we wanted to be sure we would have a table after a long day in the sun! If you are rethinking the open dining you can probably change your dining options, our customer service guy has been excellent and has dealt with all my curiosity calls with great patience and helpfulness, I'm sure they will be just a courteous with you!

I loved the open dining on the Legend in January 09!  It was great to eat when we wanted.  It was really easy too.  You show your sign and sail card and they seat you fast.  If you have to wait they give you a beeper.  We always had a table within 15 minutes. This was perfect for our family.

I did this on the Paradise in March and liked it. FYI - If you like your waiter, you can ask to sit in that section the next time you have dinner. If the section is full, then you can either wait until a table opens up or sit in a different section. You also have a choice of either sharing a table or not. I discovered that the best time to go was approx. 30 min to 45 min after the dining room opens and there was no line.

I always had late dining, because give me time to relax after excursion and I don't feel like rushing.I like to seat with the same people every night and talk about how was our day and have a good time, As a matter of fact my best friend in this world I met them in our table even they are from New York and I'm from Florida they are family to us now, Love having the same waitress every night. I never miss any show and after late dinner and see the shows im ready to hit the dancing floor

My husband and I loved it!!!  No pressure to get to dinner on time.  We were able to come back from an excursion, take a nap and then leisurely get ready for dinner.  6pm is a little early for us and 8pm too late.  So, this worked out for us.  We NEVER waited to be seated and were able to request where we'd like to be seated.  For us, it was ideal:)

So if you have late dining at 8pm and someone from anytime dining was seated at your table at 7pm and is still there eating, what happens? Do you have to switch tables for the night or wait for them to finish because of this? Or do they not seat anytime dining within time frames close to the early or late dining times?

Re: Your Choice Dining. Any feedback?

We sailed the Inspiration out of Tampa the week prior to the 4th of July. I've read it was the last week prior to them introducing the anytime dining option which all I've read seems really popular these days. Were sailing again over Thanksgiving weekend. and hope to have the assigned dining again. We met two lovely families from outside Macon Ga on our cruise in July and find it one of the highlights of cruising to meet families we've never known to share our cruise expierences with and meet new people at the same time versus the convenience of eating by ourselves at different tables throughout the cruise. We continue to be fans of the assigned dining and look forward to meeting new friends on our next cruise.

I read on another post that the anytime dining had a certain area of the dining room reserved especially for them.

I haven't cruised since this was an option, so I don't really know, but that's what someone said.

On Legend, the AnyTimers were on the smaller second level; those with fixed seating were on the main level.
