    Costa Cruises

I know this is a Carnival website and I am a big fan of Carnival (5 cruises taken with them and hopefully many more in the future) but I have an opportunity to go on a Costa Cruise next spring and I was wondering if anyone here has been on one before and can compare it with Carnival.  Costa is owned by Carnival Corp. so I guess I would still be staying in the family.

I have only been on Carnival in the past so this would be something new for me and the family.  Thanks.

    Re: Costa Cruises

I was on a Costa Cruise about 6 years ago.  We had an ocean view cabin.  Our two teenage children were with us in the same room.  We were not in our room much, so this was ok.  The cruise was great all the way around.  Our cabin steward was great.  The food was great.  We always went to the dining room for dinner, and every night was a great experience.  I think it is very comparible to a Carnival Cruise.  Part of it depends on the boat itself.  I have been on a Carnival Cruise that I was not happy with, and then I have been on Carnival Cruises that I was very pleased with.

My husband and I renewed our wedding vowels on the Costa Cruise.  I would definitely cruise with them again.  Our Costa Cruise was a great experience.

I have never cruised Costa, but I have a friend who is loyal only to the best deal and occassionally cruises Costa.   No complaints from her.  Not sure if it is every cruise, but Costa also has a "toga" night and that looks like fun!

    Re: Costa Cruises

My DH and I were on Costa Atlantica in Apr 07.  It was a beautiful ship, keep in mind English is not one of their top 3 languages spoken.  Everything is said in 5 languages but English seems to be the least in the shows , lido deck events etc....when talking to staff their lappels she the country flags of the languages that staff member speaks.

It was still worth spending our 20th on this ship.  Food is outstanding, ship is cleaned constantly and people are very friendly
