    Payout at Casinos?

We are getting ready to sail in 13 days.  We were wondering if the ship's casino has good payouts.  Of course we are not tough gamblers, only slots, and pennies for me.  We don't plan on spending a lot of time there either, but wanted some feedback from other non-committed gamblers as ourselves.  Thanks in advance for the info.

I have never won big in Louisiana. But can usually stretch $40 for 4-5 hours. Not on the boat. I found the machines to be very greedy.

    Re: Payout at Casinos?

No the casino does not have good pay outs, at least not on my last trip on the Sensation. With slots there is no true way for a player to know but based on the other machines(video poker, keno etc.) it gives you an idea. I can't remember the pay tables now as it has been over a year since I sailed but I do recall that the Keno in particular was terrible. Keno normally has a huge house edge but this pay table was ridiculous. That doesn't mean you can't win  or have a lot of fun trying. When you are lucky, you're lucky!

    Yoteacher,

We sail on July 11th.  I have been on several cruises.  Did not have luck on the slots but one cruise my ex won over $8,000 playing the craps table and blackjack.  He always said gamble on the way out, not on the way back.  I have had other friends have good luck with the cards on past cruises, all with Carnival.  I don't really gamble, just play slots for fun. Sounds like we will be on the same cruise??

Yes, looks like we will be on the same ship.  Have you ever been to Progesso or Cozumel?  What activities do you have planned or have experienced?  This will be our first ever cruise.  We are pretty excited.

Yes I have been on this same itenerary but on the Elation.  Last time I just shopped in Progresso.  This time we are going to go seek out a nice beach and shop.  I read that Malecon Beach is nice and has a craft market nearby.  In Cozumel we are going to do the Dolphin adventure thru Carnival.  The kids are really excited about that.  We hope to also find a nice beach and do some snorkeling after the Dolphin adventure.  I have only cruised once with kids about 6 years ago on Disney.  The rest of my cruises have been with Carnival and I have been very happy with them.  We are taking my 9 year old step son.  We have friends going and they have a 6 year old and 11 year old.  Do you have kids going?  It is quite a different experience with kids vs. without.

As I tell my friends who ask me about cruising... A cruise is what you make of it.  If you go in with a great attitude, and don't let little things bother you, you will most likely have a great time.  I feel there is something for everyone.

I hope you have a wonderful time on your first cruise.  Maybe we will run into each other on the boat!

    Re: Payout at Casinos?

I sailed in April out of Galveston.  Our friends won almost $2000 on the Wheel of Fortune slot the first night (of course they gave it all back and then some).  Everyone reported the machines were tight the remainder of the cruise and we were even warned by the waitstaff not to return to the casino. On our second to last night, I played the same machine and put in $9 and won $500 and I cashed out and put the dough in the safe.  I only spent 9 bucks the entire cruise to gamble because I feel I work too hard for my money to pi$$ it away.  That $500 paid for our cruise in November!

Bottom line..it is what it is. If you're a gambler you know you play against the house and those big casinos were not built with winners money!

i'm not a big gambler either, on my first cruise i won 300.00 and my girlfriend didn't win , on our second cruise i didn't win and she won close to 600.00--i truely believe it's all about lady luck, i always go in thinking to lose some money, but i do it for the fun of it, me personally i don't like to waste my hard earned money also as one of the other person said, i play 25 cent and from time to time the 1.00 slots..but we go in with a 60.00 a day budget to play the slots for the both of us to spend together,,and by the way both times we came home with a little extra cash which is nice,,, it's what you make of it,,,have fun and win some cruise money,,,,
