We just booked along with two other couples and are very excited!!  We are way past due for a cruise but due to health issues, it was unavoidable.

We love to hang out on deck, play cards and partake in adult beverages on sea days...we are a group of adults (questionable LOL) aged from 35-49 and love to have fun, meet people and enjoy cruise life.

Based on your post, you are way overdue for this cruise. Welcome to our little group(so far) and hope to see you on board. I had to laugh at the group of adult(questionable) statement. We, like you, enjoy the cruise life and can't wait to be back on board and out to sea again. Time to relax, kick back and enjoy the time spent at sea and the ports. As for the ages, you are only as young as you feel. My wife keeps me busy and we enjoy each sailing. I have a few years on the oldest of the group but my wife is right in you age group. But then she always tells me to behave and grow up a lot of times. I don't act my age and probably never well. Life is too short so have fun, enjoy the time spent with family and friends. Hope to see you onboard.

Hello everyone...My family and I are booked on this cruise.  There is my husband, myself, our three boys - 15, 7, and 6 plus my brother whose 26 and my oldest son't BF.  We are staying on the Riveria Deck.  We can't wait.  We already took advantage of the price protection and saved but I keep watching.  More credit would be grand.  Hope to see you all on board.  We are driving in from Springfield, MO.

I just got your post from earlier.  I think we are decorating our cabin door in a sea theme but I don't know what my son, brother, and friend are doing next door to us.  We are Interior Rm 91 and 87 I believe.  I dreed the drive too.  We are leaving our area though on Sunday to prevent being late.  Plus we are stopping to visit family along the way.

We will have to meet up sometime.  So, explain something to me...what is Monkey Head and VIP.  I know I am neither since it is our first cruise, but hopefully soon.

Michelle (So, awesome we are only like 3 hours away from each other - small world).

    Re: Rollcall 1/11/2010

Ok so the monkeyhead is a coconut that they carve to look like a monkeyhead. You get them one day on the cruise with a small cup in it for ur drink. They are like $15 or so I dont remember, now the vip thing is for people who have booked suites or if ur over 10 cruises i think. Im neither one so I know we will just stand in line. It goes by fast anyways. It is a great way to meet new people. Yes we are leaving Sunday too, that way we can be down there and not have to worry about the weather or anything like that. We are room R230. We will definally have to hang out while relaxing. Your kids will love the water slide at the back of the boat, my husband and myself couldnt stay off it. Lots of fun. There is alot to do on days at sea. We are going to Pardise Beach. We went there last time and it was so BEAUTIFUL. It costs $10 per person to use the water toys and is only a short taxi ride from port. I cant wait, cant wait, cant wait!!!! I know I have not found anyone for this cruise from Missouri...except for you!  Now I just have to find the husband good driving directions down there.

    Re: Rollcall 1/11/2010

Ok, I get it.  How's the weather?  I was worried about the temps and weather in January.  I read it is good, but it always better to have someone tell you that's been.  I just don't want it to be cool when the kids want to ride the slides and stuff.  We are planning on going to Playa Mia in Cozumel...just taking a taxi.  We wanted to go after breakfast and stay about 5 hours and then return for lunch and shopping.  But I was worried that it may be too chilly in the mornings for water time.  So, I thought we may do downtown area some then head to the beach.  I just don't want to be late to the boat.  I will check out Paradise Island tonight when I get home and see what it is about.  I think we are going to head to Playa de Carmen when we dock in Calica.  We were going to do the Excursion to Cancun but you know kids don't want to shop.

We are taking Hwy 60 to West Plains, then Hwy 63 to Jonesboro, AR then over to Memphis onto I-55.  Then I was told take I-55 to Jackson, MS and well I need to get that directions again.  Our friends go this way instead of Mapquest way and they said it is alot quicker.  Ya, we want to be boarding around so we can have lunch on the Lido deck and then to our rooms and get ready for the farewell party.  I want to see the ship set sail plus the kids will love that.

Did you get sea sick?  Sometimes my youngest gets car sick, so I was going to take some pills for him?  What ammenities does the interior room have - hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste???  Just curious how much to bring.  I did read you can bring a cooler with water and sodas on board. Beer

    Re: Rollcall 1/11/2010

The weather is GREAT! Its warm very warm. Take lots of sunblock. Its true you burn faster in Mexico. We got to the beach at 9am...and then left at 3...to go back and shop. I wasnt worried about missing the boat cause the lady at the beach told us she would let us know 3 hours before just as a heads up.
I did get a little sick but I have the patch for that. My kids are the ones I'm worried about. Dr says kids are normally fine. I cant say enough good things about Fantasy. I cant wait! It never once rained or was cloudy when we went this past January, just down right BEAUTIFUL. Well till we got home and it was only 21 in St.Louis and we had just missed the snow. But that time we flew so I didnt care this time no snow since we are driving. The water on the boat was kinda chilly but i didnt care i would stay in it.The main and only pool was kinda busy at times but we figured out when the best times were to go. I would say at least one night go to the adult comedy at midnight...its so funny. Are you and your family going to to formal night? I cant wait for that, we dont dress up alot here back home so we take advantage of this. Plus you can get your pictures taken and if you dont like well then you dont have to buy. We only bought 2 different sets of pics. They cost about $22 for and 8x10

    Re: Rollcall 1/11/2010

We are sailing on the 1/11/10 cruise also. Their are no hairdryers on the Fantasy. Sailed her before and no hair dryer. Take  a power strip with since their is only one plug at the for you to plug into in the room.  Then you have a bunch of plugs to use for other theings like battery charger etc.Their is one in the bathroom at the light but thats a pain to plug into anyway. They have samples but not soap or shampoo. They are in dispensers in the shower but you might not like them. Shampoo is a little harsh on the hair. No toothpaste so bring that too. Sometimes we received samples of toothpaste on some cruises and then other times we did not. We bring a small cooler that holds about 8 cokes plus the top section you can get some bottles in it. Had no problems getting it on board so far. Hope this helps. One more to go to VIP status

That sounds great!  I also checked out Paradise Beach and I think that is the one we will go to.  It is cheaper, has the same and more water activities, and many people talk highly of it.  I can't believe it is only $10 to do everything except shop and food.  Playa Mia wants $16 for basic and you have to pay to kayak, pay for snorkel equipment, and no drinks or food either.  There are alot of pictures to too!  That gave me a real look around.

Keep me posted on your trip.  Have you been watching the prices, someone said they dropped alot right before the cruise.  I already got one reduction, I would love another one.

Are your kids going to Camp Carnival?  I just registered mine online.  I don't want them to stay there the entire time, but I would like to have some private time too!

    Re: Rollcall 1/11/2010

I hope we see you at the beach we will forsure be there when they open. You get to pick where you want to sit then since not alot of people get there first thing in the morning. Yes they will be going to Camp Carnival not alot but there will be a few times we need them to go there. I hope the price does down again but I doubt it. We have an onboard credit and I'm happy with that. Doesn't take much to make me happy.  Yes no hairdryer so bring yours if you need it. I never used the shampoo in the shower i brought my own, my husband used it but not on my hair. In the basket in the bathroom on the sink we had toothpaste, razors, mouth wash, bodysoap, gum. It just depends on the goodies they have. Make sure you try the chocolate melting cake in the dining room after dinner...omg its to die for!!!! The best there is, oh man now I cant wait. So have you decided what you are doing in Calica? I have not and cant to much to do so I think I will let the kids decide what they want to do. Only 63 days to go

    Re: Rollcall 1/11/2010

Yeah, if the weather is good we are probably going to leave for Paradise right after breakfast.  That way if the kids get tired we will leave mid afternoon.  I will make sure to pack all my things because I am picky about what I use.  No the boys...well they are boys and don't care but I do.  Everyone tells the same story about the melting cake.  My co-worker just got back in Feb from a cruise to the Virgin Islands...he said the same thing.

At first we were going to go on the excursion to Cancun, but I don't know if we still are because not everyone wanted to because it was only 5 hours and 2 of that was traveling.  You really can't see much about Cancun in 3 hours.  I think we are going to take a taxi to Playa de Carmen and shop and do beach time.  I did hear that Playa de Carmen in Mexican meant "Beach of the Topless One" and was warned there would be topless tourist (so if you don't want your boys to see that just wanted to let you know).  But we will probably do Playa de Carmen.  I really wanted to do the Tulum tour, but I just broke my leg 8 weeks ago, so my husband thinks it is too much walking and doesn't want me to hurt it again since the DR said it could take up to 12 months to fully heal.  But there was no way I was cancelling the cruise.  So, I guess we will do that next time because I think we will go again.  Of course, I would like to go to Jamica, so we may have to do a 7 night next time.

I am getting a countdown clock soon, because I can't wait!!!!  Keep me up-to-date on your plans.  My husband was amazed I met someone from MO and have been chatting it up on this forum.
