In case anyone needs bullet points to understand the boards moderation  policy, it generally goes like this:

1. Any post of significant length, and any "new post", in certain message board topic areas -- specifically, those which address issues of interest to Carnival staff for providing answers
2. Any post which has more than one web link embedded in it -- as this is the favored means of spammers spamming the boards
3. Any post which has the word for the required government identity documentation that you can only get from the US State Department -- as that [apparently] also requires someone at Carnival to determine if a question is being asked of them
4. Any other post at random

Now, most of us who endured the spam-a-lot festival can appreciate [maybe] #2; those who issue miles-long kvetches about Carnival service may [possibly] appreciate #1; a few with [required documentation] questions may appreciate #3.

The real issue, Stephanie [and whomever else], is the random and effectively capricious nature of #4.  I can safely speak for most and say we appreciate the effort -- particularly after the spam orgy last fall or winter; but I think i can also safely speak for most others and say we don't like the results.  It is annoying and to some insulting.

I cannot provide a list of words that get flagged for moderation.  If I explain how this process works the spamming posters/porgrams will easily figure out a way to flood the forums with spam posts.  I kindly ask that you do not email me everytime a comment gets flagged for moderation as this will only slow the process down further.  We are working on a solution and hope to have it implemented soon.

Thanks once again for your reply, YES we all do understand that those "Certain Words" Can't be posted here, and the reasons why

But I also know now that we hopefully have the Connections IT Dept Attention to this ongoing problem as well as yours, and like you said they hope to have the new system implemented soon

Dawn Perhaps the your answer is that everything you posted is lies.  Like I said before, you had not one good thing about your cruise that you liked.  Do us all a favor, go over to your other cruiseline, quit spewing your venom and leave Carnival to the people that love it.

Obviously I am new here, but all I asked was something like (sorry, I didn't copy like Tom suggested):

Carnival, please add Seattle to the "Departing - Ports of Call" to the list.  Thanks!

And I got a message that they have to look at it before it gets posted.  I'm not sure why. 

I can think of at least one modification which might be of help for those who are "more active" on here:

Those who post on here frequently and have shown responsible posting behavior should be granted “Trusted Poster” status. Thus their posts will go “straight to press” so to speak. Basically once you reach a certain point, you are “innocent until proven guilty”.

I'm glad you got an answer as to why this keeps happening,I never could .I gave up on trying to post anything on here a while back because everything i tried to post went to moderation.I hardly ever get on here anymore because of the problem.I check back from time to time but that is about it.It does not matter what i say on my post they all go for some reason so i give up.This one will more than likely go too....

your moderation filter is broken right now.  i eventually broke down the reply to say, thank you very much VA Cruiser, and that wouldn't even go through, your filter has been wacky all week, moderating posts with no bad words, please get it fixed asap, thanks a bunch.
