    Drink Coupons? bring sodas?

What are drink coupons and where do you get them? You can bring sodas onboard?  What about beer?           Thanks Robin

from what i've seen (doing my own research) you can either get a all-trip pass which covers all your drinks for the whole time, you can order the drink coupons online and have them delivered to your room ($7 for 4 drinks i think it was)...from what i've read you can bring pop onboard, no beer, and one bottle of champaign per person (you may be charged a $10 corking fee though)

if i'm wrong i'm sure one of the more experienced cruisers will interject ;)

    until our first cruise :)

depending on what type of drink coupon you are talking about.  Carnival has the coupons for 4 soda or ones for 4 drinks that you buy on line from the carnival bon voyage department

    http://www.carnival.com/BonVoyage/Default.aspx?icid=CC_Footer_65

they also offer a drink of the day card that is for 5 drinks that is 23 plus tips.  that is only for the drinks of the day.  not other types of drinks.  you buy those onboard the ship

    Robin,

Not sure if I understood your question, but you can bring a reasonable amount of soda on board, but you cannot board with any beer.  Whenever we have ordered drink coupons or soda coupons before we sail, they delivered them to us at our dinner table on embarkation night.  They have never been placed in our room.  Have never had the chance to purchase the drink of the day card, but plan to on our next cruise.  If I understand right, we purchase those once we board.

You can purchase a soda card onboard (~$27), but this does not include any alcoholic drinks.

you can order the drink coupons online and have them delivered to your room ($7 for 4 drinks i think it was)

I have never seen this, but I doubt it is for alcoholic beverages. Probably for soda.

...from what i've read you can bring pop onboard, no beer, and one bottle of champaign per person (you may be charged a $10 corking fee though)

You can bring soda and water that has not been opened. You can bring 1 bottle of champagne or wine per person. They only charge you a corking fee if you bring the bottle with you to dinner. If you open it in your room they don't charge you. We just poured our glasses in our room and took the glass to dinner.

You can order the drink coupons 4/21.25 on Carnival.com . Here is the link:

    http://www.carnival.com/BonVoyage/AddToCart.aspx?cat=MostPopularItems&pid=BAR

Also, as stated above, you can also buy a drink of the day card from the bar waitstaff, but someone who just got off the ship stated it is now $26 + gratuity.

The soda card also can be purchased from the bar waitstaff and runs around $27/children and $42/adults. It's called the "Fountain Fun Card". Here is the link for information:

    http://www.carnival.com/CMS/FAQs/Fountain_Fun_Card.aspx

A one time 15% gratuity is added at purchase. I've been told that if you wait to purchase this card till after the ship is said, you will save the tax charged while still in Galveston. Also, water, lemonade, tea, and juice are served free of charge in the buffet area of the Lido deck.

You can bring just about any type of drink on board within a reasonable amount. Just get creative in your alcohol disguises ;) Trust me, I know and bring it in a carry on.

They frown on you bringing 12 paks of soda on board

My cruise is in October and I have been buying alcohol drinks coupons

for the past several months  so I have enough for 20 + drinks so far

I buy the Soda Card on ship for the wife- about $25-20 bucks for limitless soft drinks- which makes wifey Happy   You can also buy 2 different wine deals good for 5 different bottles on line also

    Re: Drink Coupons? bring sodas?

    >> I just got off a 7 day Mexican Riviera cruise.  I brought a case of water strapped to a folding dolly.  It sure beats the $4 bottle of water they place in your room (it's not free).  On my previous cruise I brought the water and 4 - 12 packs of soda.  For a family of 5, this is a reasonable amount of beverage.  Nobody looked twice at it.  They did make me unstrap it and put it through the x-ray machine.  Once on board, we removed the contents of the fridge and put it away (also not free) so that we'd have room to chill soda and water.

    >> This time we bought the soda cards.  My wife and I shared one.  The bar tenders don't pay too much attention to who's name is on it.

    >> It's common to get liquor on the ship through your checked luggage.  I've done it and several people I talked to on board did as well.  The free lemonaide and mango-passion fruit juice make a good mixer for vodka.

This may be a dumb question, but do they have pitchers of drinking water on the ship like they do lemonade?  I drink a lot of water, and I can't imagine having to struggle with a case of water when I board the ship. I would much rather just bring a water bottle and fill it up, if that is possible.

There is water and lemonade available in a dispenser on the lido deck. Next to the ice dispenser.

like cruisin happy said--4 drink coupons for 21.50--if you don't tell the bart tender anything they will automaticlly put your drink in a keep sake cup and charge you more for the drink, , just ask for your drink or the drink of the day in a regular glass, so you don't have to keep paying extra for the keepsake cup, ,,,and no beer also i believe, ,carnival depends on there beer sales...water yes!!!

    have fun

Bring a case of water bottles distributed between your luggage and carry ons or all in your cary on

. Your steward will even provide you with an Ice chest as he did for me when he kept seeing water bottles laying around my room. I drink a ton of water so my advice is gold. bring it and ask for constant ice from room steward. depending on your room you may even be able to take some stuff out of your mini bar and put water bottles in it. Happy cruisin!
