Re: Just coming into port in Mobile

All the Carnival ships I've been on have a party atmosphere.  Camp carnival is great for the little ones.  The 17 y/o will have the arcade and the Club O2 and the various shows.  There is plenty for them to do and it's true you might not see them much.

My twin girls went with us on the Conquest when they were one month away from their 18th birthday.  They were bored to death, but that was by choice.  They didn't want to hang out with the "Kids".  I suggested they look in the morror and check their birth certificate.

You'll be happy to know they monitor the bars pretty closely for underage attendees and will remove them if they try to get in.  Ask my daughters.  Sadly, I found out they managed to get kicked out of every bar on the ship except the piano bar.  They said they didn't try that one because the music was "boring".

One of the twins has cruised three times since and loves it.  Now she doesn't even try to get into the bars and is in bed by 10pm every night.  Genetic malfuntion, I'm sure.  Her sister hasn't cruised since and doesn't want to try again.

Yours I'm sure will behave better than mine and will have a wonderful time.

    Rusty:

Here's some more good news for you.  Debarkation is a breeze.  Mobile seems to really hae their act together.  Strive to be platinum.  This was our first platinum cruise and we walked off and were through customs in 15 minutes.  Get the  porter and pay the tip.  He got us through customs and took our luggage all the way to our car in the lot in a flash.  This has never happened before.

YES! Debarkation was a breeze in Mobile! We took the Fantasy out of Mobile 8/23/08 (the week that the 2 ships wrecked in the Mississippi and split gas) This was our first cruise so we do not have anything to compair it to other than all the posts about how debarkation is 2 and 4 hours long. It took us all of 20 mins to get off.

Glad you had a great cruise! Ours is 130 days away and it cant get here fast enough!

I have never been on a cruise but I would guess you had to PAY for Bingo.  Fair is fair....give them the cruise they won!!  I hope you get you prize.

Do they have poker tournments and keno on the ship?

I agree that debarking this morning was very easy.  However....embarking was a different story.  This is my fourth cruise and I have never taken so long to embark.  It took us over two hours.  All in all, a great cruise, very smooth....only overshadowed by a passenger going overboard.

sounds like a good time!  I will be going on the "Holiday" with my parents and bro. and sis-in-law Aug. 29!  Just 68 more days as of this post.Smile   FDAS #1 will be m&d's 57th wed. anniv., and FDAS #2 will be my b&sil's 21st anniv.

What I was wondering was if on the Holiday, they had a "On Deck For The Cure" walk?  When I was on the Fantasy in Feb. I was able to participate and was wanting to share the experience with family.  My mother is a Lymphoma survivor, so she knows the treatment(s) all too well.

Can't wait to get back on a ship, but know it will be worth the wait.  Also have the Mex. Riviera booked out of L.A. in Jan 2010Big Smile

I didn't hear anything about any kind of cancer walk while on there.
