Hey everyone.  Just wanted to let you all know that the DW and I will not be sailing on this cruise afterall.  This is the slowest time of the year and the company I work for was force to cut pay 10% across the board.  So in effect with the reduction of hours and the pay cut it works out to about 30% less take home.  So we were forced to cancle the cruise (we got a full refund) and add it back to savings as a cushion.  Maybe next year if the economy will turn around.

Im sorry you wont be able to go

That is real sad that you will not be able to cruise ... this time around.  Hopefully this economy will get turned around sometime, and we can return to some kind of "normalcy"!  Take care and have a nice Thanksgiving everybody!  Hard to believe that it's this close!   ~  T

Hello again.  Well, my lodging plans have changed.  I won't be at the Q.M. after all.  I did a "Name Your Price" on Priceline.  Man, those things make me nervous!  I put in a very low bid for a 3-star hotel, and got the Westin, Long Beach for $52.00 + tax!!!  The Passport C bus is 2 blocks away and runs every 15 minutes to the Q.M. 

If you all are planning a "get-together" Sat night, I thought I might hop the bus and come out to have a drink on the Q.M.  I could just look for the group that has the "Special I.D.'s"  that M & C was designing.  What a cool souvenir of the cruise!  Keep me in your plans, if you would like.   ~  T

Hey Jennifer. We ahve a group of nine sailing with you. Another couple from NC will also be there. No one is answering the roll calls on this forum or Cruise Critic. No waiting in the line for the buffet.LOL!

Whoo hoo!  Just booked this cruise. DH and I will be driving in from Vegas at least one day before but will probably stay at the Doubletree Resort near the Ontario airport and drive the hour or so into Long Beach the morning of the 31st. If we drive all the way in, will stay at the Courtyard in Long Beach and have dinner next door at the 555 - great steaks, piano entertainment and HUGE cocktails.

This will be my second time on the Splendor, his first. It's a beautiful ship with so much to do. And gotta love that Mexican Riviera.

Are there any plans for a meetup on board the first or second day? And do you think I can bring cocktail onions for my martinis with out getting a hassle?

Ron Pass, the regular piano bar guy on the Splendor, has taken a job in P.V. for the winter so anyone who wants to can stop in and enjoy this guy while the ship is in port. He's based here in Vegas and much better than most piano bar guys here.

Ive decided to make something for everyone who is on this message board who are going on the cruise (If they want it) so we can spot eachother on the ship at one time or another. As of today I only have 3 couples information to send the items to, Jennifer and Chip, Bob and Linda, and Suzie and Fred. If anyone else is interested please email me a mailing address. I will start sending these in the mail on Monday and will not be sending any after Jan 15th so that they have plenty of time to make it to you.   Kim
