    Ribs

Does anyone know if the Inspiration ever serves Ribs either on the buffet or in the dining room?  My son loves them and is really hoping that they have them on the cruise.

The ribs they have on board are usually baby back (pork), just in case your son was looking for beef. I had them for my dining room entreƩ on the last night of my last cruise and enjoyed them. Though they were somewhat dried out (heat lamp and/or holding bin) the meat fell off the bone and you could easily eat them with a fork.

I always thought that was a sign of some really good ribs.  Stick out tongue

We just recently got off the Ecstasy for a seven day.  They served some wonderful babyback ribs the first night and the last night they served boneless braised shortribs which were absolutely tender.  You didn't have to use a knife.

    Joan ~

My mom had the ribs last night of our 7-night Splendor cruise, and pretty sure they were the boneless shortribs.  She loved them AND even though she is still having some difficulty eating certain foods (surgery for tongue cancer in November) they were TENDER and not a problem at all... and yeah, no knife needed!

Do they add BBQ sauce to them? Is this an entree on all the ships?

One day when you all come to san diego we'll have to have a bbq. I have a fantastic sauce I buy from Tucson. Regina said she really knows how to cook so we'll have her too.

As I remember the shortribs come lightly sauced, but not drowning in goo the consistency of molasses (not that lots of thick sauce is a bad thing).

Hey, we want in on that barbecue! Sally is an awesome cook and is particularly talented in the making of cheesecakes. I know my way around the kitchen and grill as well.

    Re: Ribs

Most of the sauces I have tasted on BBQ's are either to vinegarie or have too much pepper taste for me. A chef who knows how to make tender ribs wouldn't need to drown the taste with sauce. Good to know and is filed for future reference.

The BBQ sauce I have is spicy and I just order 14 bottles of it. I love to cook appetizers and diner food but not desserts. Seems like we could have quite a party.

Joan, I could not agree with you more!!! My son LOVED the babyback ribs, but the braised shortribs were the best I have ever eaten!! Can't wait to go back.

    Re: Ribs

All I have to say is that the babyback ribs are covered in BBQ sauce and are so.... good. You have to try them. They aren't messy at all cause they fall right off the bone.

4 Bolts---- has KC BBQ across from the Hyatt re opened?   I heard they had a fire and were closed down.

I was to a convention in SD a whole back and found the place, when I got in Late and didn't want to pay the room service prices at the Hyatt.   Great food.

This was the bar that was used to flim some of the scenes in Top Gun.   (Goose playing  Great balls of fire at the piano)

    PB bowler,

I just drove by it friday and they were open. I don't know what they have been able to procure to replace the burned decorations.
