    Re: Bring a blow dryer

While I'm thinking about it...I wouldn't use the ship's blow dryer anyway.  I had a friend who had the ship's blow dryer basically explode in his hand while he was using it.  He had some pretty bad burns.  It was on a different cruise line, but also owned by Carnival.  The crew's response was to run up another dryer.  Never mind the burns.  Couldn't find the ship doctor anyway...  "But here...have a money-off voucher for your next cruise."  Oh sure.  Like there's going to be a next cruise for him.  An actual cash refund would have been more appropriate after the way they responded.

Anyway...after that long story - I just bring my own.  I still cruise, and so does he.  But I bring my own.  And so does he.

Haydeneh... when refrigerator is not avaliable it can be improvised with an  ice box. Hope you are getting excited. I have added on few more cruises on the HOLIDAY before the OLD LADY retires in Nov. Some of my trips are back to back because I will miss her once she is gone. Best

I am  BEYOND excited!!  This is probably a once in a lifetime event for me (well I really would like a cruise to Alaska - but we will see how this one goes)!

We thought our first cruise was a once in a lifetime too. Now we've booked our second one and trying to work it to take one a year!

Kyreb... I have been crusing for 20 years and like Mary Ann and Rob I started with one cruise a year and now I cruise once each month or even twice. Hope your exprience is good and you get to check out Alaska. Are you and Haydeneh one and the same if not tell Heydeneh not to forget packing his/her bug spray. Have a very COOL 4th of July.

    Suku,

Thanks for all your advice and I always enjoy reading your posts (I am going to be watching for the Jupiter "thing" - I am so technical! I won't forget the bug spray - if I can squeeze it in it---

And yes -- I am both -- just too lazy to change name on different computers.  Happy 4th and Happy Sailing!!

I found a hair dryer in the drawer on the table underneath the TV while cruising on the Spirit a few weeks back. Your cabin steward probably knows where it is. Leave yours home and ask him/her when you meet them on the first night.

Kyreb/Haydeneh... I think you will have great time. Would you belive that I know a lady who has sailed on the HOLIDAY more then 21 times and loved each one of them. She has stretched her bookings well into FANTASY and is an inspiration to me. I am Ocean high... as soon as we sail out in the open sea the philosopher in me will come out and I will merge into the totality of the elements. A high from which there is no comming down. I looked into the Gulf rader and did not see any cloud so as of now it appears we will have smooth sailing with high tide because of near full moon, but no one can predict the weather. We will have good time come rain or shine or July heat. Keep Cool !!!
