We're cruising out on May 23rd also.  This is our second cruise.  It's also our second time going to Grand Turk.  We did some snorkling ourselves but didn't pay for the excursions.  Some of the people said the excursion wasn't worth it.  You seen just as much doing it yourself right off the beach.  We really enjoyed spending a lot of time at Margaritaville.  They had a live Dj and other fun things.  Great food there!  They tell you they have the biggest pool in the Bahamas there.  It's only 3 feet deep the whole way across but it is huge.

Just returned from the Pride sailing. Had a GREAT time and the Port of Baltimore could not have been easier for drivers. In and out-- easy as could be. Would do any trip out of Baltimore!!!

We did a 'reef and rays' excursion because we did it last year on Grand Turk. Unfortunately, the water was very choppy with a strong current, so the snorkeling was a bust. (But we got great time with the sting rays!) We also plan ned a snorkel trip for Freeport, but, again, water was not cooperating. That one got cancelled before we ever left the dock.

Check the conditions-- if it's at all choppy, you don't want to be out in the water. You will swallow more that you would like :)

Have a great time on your cruise. The  Pride is magnificent! And it NEVER felt crowded. We hung at the 'aft' pool-- no kids (except for the young adult variety) so it was very relaxing.

Re: May 23 cruise from Baltimore on Pride, also Dec 13!

Wow, Deb, the Pride sounds great! I'm booked with a group on the Pride Dec. 13-20, 2009 from Baltimore. My agency, A & P Travel in Baltimore, gets some great groups rates and the perks like the all-you-can-drink cocktail party are awesome. This is my 5th Carnival Cruise with A & P Travel group department. My wife and I are so looking forward to this cruise, our first out of Baltimore. Two years ago we were on her sister ship The Miracle out of Ft. Lauderdale and we had a blast! Great size ship, easy to get around. One day at sea, we had a tropical storm, but we felt very safe and even ate lunch at the height of it. My agency still has some cabins left so I am inviting more friends. Come join us!
