excursion to bay of fundy in st.john

ok... me and some of my family will be going to Canada july 13 on triumph. FYI: I am 18 yr old. We have no clue what excursions to do. I was looking for something fun yet historical. I was thinking about bay of Fundy.

What all is there that we can do? did anyone really go scuba diving? or kayaking. I went to the bay of Fundy website and it seem like there's a lot to do. was just wondering if anyone who went on the cruise do those things.

hi christa, my friend and i are going june 15. in st.johns, we are going to do the siteseeing tour which is an hour long, its right next to the museum for bay of fundy and that one you can book thru carnival. and then go and do the jet boat tour that gets right up to the whirlpool/reversing falls. then we're going to do a tour of the town. either horsedrawn or the bus. we are using the website for the jetboat tour that also has the "dry" tour. here is their website and its $40.00 in canadian dollars with the taxes .. www.jetboatrides.com

On the 12 Sept. 09 sailing I'm going to the Fundy national park. Hopefully it's worth the cost that I paid.

Re: excursion to bay of fundy in st.john

I'm going on the Aug. 1 cruise to Halifax and St. John. This is my first cruise, and I'm trying to decide whether to book the excursions through Carnival or on my own. Is there any benefit to booking through Carnival? I assume it's more expensive. On the other hand, my father is slightly disabled so I thought it might be easier for him if everything was booked in advance. Thanks!

ok, the story is, that if you use carnival sponsered tours you are garanteed to get back to the boat. for instance, when we were in St. John, the ship was scheduled to leave at 4:00 PM (they won't wait either) and 5 after we saw ppl coming up the walkway from a bus. ship sponsered, they waited. so that is one advantage of booking thru carnival and yes it can be a little more expensive, but we like the guarantee on that. and in st.john didnt see any other tours to be had unless you went thru carnival, tho we did do the bay of fundy boat tour which i booked directly thru them www.jetboatrides.com   depending on your fathers ability there is a steepish flight of stairs to get down to the boat and then back up when the tour is over. in halifax we booked both the tour of halifax an the whale watch thru carnival

I will never book an excursion unless it is through Carnival...that being said, the boat left us in Mexico - once realized,  it turned around and cam back for us - we got back to the boat so late that all dinner seating was closed.  They put on a nice dinner for us in the food court!
