We will be cruising in October on Fasination. We don't get into Nassau until 12:00 pm on Thursay.  I just looked up some info on Blackbeards Cay and the only times they go out are 9:15 and 10:30 and they aren't running on Thursdays.  If any one has done this tour could you give me more info, is that correct?

My group is going to Blackbeard's Cay and one of us (at least) will be doing the stingray encounter.  I'll try to remember to return & comment on my experience.  17 more days!

Blackbeard's Cay is an awesome island, but be prepared:  the Sandels Resort covers most of it and you're not allowed on their property.  You're mainly restricted to the bay side of the island.  There is a path you can take to the Atlantic side, but that area is not for swimming.  They said we could take some pictures over there - we didn't bother.

The stingray area is fenced off, but you can see the stingrays.  Also, I didn't see where people were snorkeling, but it wasn't far from where we were.  Our swim area was roped off, so you could only swim in the designated area.  Plenty of chairs to sun in, and their showers are available, but they're salt water, just not as strong of salt as the ocean.  Also, they are outside, so don't expect to take a full shower; it's more of a rinse-off.

Our excursion was dampened by a thunderstorm that rolled in about a half-hour after we arrived.  We had  to seek shelter under one of the large gazebos.  We probably spent a total of 1 hour in the water/on the beach before we had to leave.  Watch out for the sand fleas!  We were getting bit the whole time we waited in line to board the boat.  Be prepared and bring your bug spray.  Once I sprayed our legs, they left us alone.

This excursion was just fine for the price, but we would have liked more time to play.  Oh well, you can't control Mother Nature!

Thanks for your review.  Did you go on Thursday when boat docked from 12 to 10?  I thought I saw somewhere that the boats didn't run on Thursdays.  How far from ship was the boat to go to the Island?  I think the time was from 1:00 to 5:00 is that correct?  I guess there wouldn't be enough time for straw market.
