Has anyone done the rain forest-horseback-BBQ excursion?

    Hello Everyone,

Just wondering what your impressions were of the excursion.  Apparently it is a new excursion and I was wondering if those of you who have gone on it would recommend it or not.

I'm going crazy trying what to decide to do here, as well.

    Which rainforest excursion?????

    Did you find one?

    Miss C.

I did find one, called "Sunset Horseback" in the excursions listing for the town of  Puerto Vallarta in the 4th page of their selections for that city.  The teaser line states "Novice and expert riders alike will love this horseback ride through the rain forest and barbeque dinner."

I'm hoping that someone writes in to tell us if it was fun, safe and worth the money.  The last time I was on a horse was 24 years ago and I think the Irish locals in Killarney specifically bred them to try and kill American tourists.  Hope Mexican horses have more of a mellow, "manana" mentality.

My sister and I did that excursion last year and we both enjoyed it and she had never been on a horse in entire life.  The scenary was absolutley breathtaking - that alone is work the cost.  The only drawback for me was the inability to take photos because they don't stop the horse and I didn't want to let go and fall off.  However, if you are braver than I, perhaps this will not be a problem.  And I must say the food was delicious.  They also do a show during dinner that was delightful - I would most definitely recommend this excursion and I would do it again myself.

ps...the horses are very calm and I think a littler older.  When I mentioned the fear of falling off - it was because the path is rocky, but my horse was delightful and knew where to put her feet...the horses are not to be feared, they are quite gentle.

    Hope this is helpful
