I wanted to take this cruise but I am solo and haven't gotten my passport yet. Does anyone have any experience with expedited passports?

Are you sure you need a passport for this cruise? I understand if you return to the same port you leave from, you won't need one. The only way you would need it is if for some unforseen reason you would have to fly back into the US. Of course, they cannot keep you from your home country, you would just have to jump through extra hoops.

Bring your Driver License and a offical Birth Certificate the one with a raised state seal on it. If no pssport I was told that would get you on the ship

But it won't get ya back! (Just kidding). Birth Certificate and DL is good. It's a closed loop cruise. I do think getting through customs with a passport is quicker and less trouble.

My wife rides in a Mardi Gras parade and all the Krewes have a big ball before the parade. Kind of like a Prom, just on a large scale. Gotta do the tux and everything..(please don't say it's so).

My reward will be Tuesday when I board the ship dressed in the exact polar opposite from a fashion stand point. Gotta be one step closer to heaven.

So they are having a ball in November before the parade in Feb? OR are we lucky enough to be able to see the parade in November?

The parade is not until later. I don't pretend to understand it. My wife gives the impression she does, but I don't think so. What I do understand is my duties as a husband, and one of those duties is to never question the one who must be obeyed. The price for questioning is unbearable and the method of payment varies depending on mood.

Another thing I know is her mood improves greatly if she is on a cruise ship. And this time, she will have a bottle of champagne and two dozen red roses waiting for her in our cabin (25th anniversary). This will blow her mind because she is convinced I have not one romantic bone in my body.

We are six days away from the Triumph. I can only hope to have the strength to wait 6 more days. I hope Carnival has restocked the supply of the Funship drink because I intend to deplete the inventory significantly. Anyone interested in joining can find my wife and I at the bar by the casino as soon as the bar opens.

wow... sounds like she has you trained well. I for sure want to meet you...uh.. I mean her to get some tips! :D We have been married 20 years and I got him to take this cruise during deer season.. so that's not too shabby huh!

Well folks, looks we will be headed right towards tropical storm Ida on our way to Cozumel. Hopefully it dies out or turns inland instead of the northwest track they are predicting. I'm not worried either way...it's gonna be fun!

Yes, I am fully trained, but it sounds like your husband is trained as well. I always tell newlywed males the quicker they learn the phrase "Yes Dear", the better. I eat better and sleep safer having learned the magic phrase early on in our marriage. Actually, she's what makes everything else in my life work. That may be weird for me to admit that, but it's true.

I am finally getting excited about this cruise. We've been waiting for months and the time has finally come to put on my shorts and t-shirt, take off the tie, turn off the cell phone and forget about the world for a while. TS Ida wouldn't dare mess this up. Fortunately, I'm one of those cruisers that feel the destination is the ship and ports are just lagniappe. We might need to be prepared for a little rockin' and rollin', but as long as the ship sails, I'll be happy.
