    Violence in Mexico?

Is anyone else at all worried about all the violence down there right now?  We are not booked until August but it seems to be getting out of hand!

Yes we are.  Been trying to research but not getting alot of information.  We leave out on our cruise, Monday March 2.   From what I have read, alot of  kidnapping going on.  I believe for excursions we will definitely stick with Carnival ones.  Anyone out there have anymore info quick.  3  Days and I will know more.  Will post information when we return

Yes we are going to ensenada in about 2 weeks and I am very concerned with traveling to Mexico right now. The state department has a web-site that I have been checking and also just watching the news. Hopefully while on the ship Carnival will give advice on what to do and where to go in order to stay safe!

    Re: Violence in Mexico?

Here is what has been posted on the government website...Sounds like if you avoid these areas, all will be fine:

"While millions of U.S. citizens safely visit Mexico each year (including thousands who cross the land border every day for study, tourism or business), violence in the country has increased recently.  It is imperative that travelers understand the risks of travel to Mexico, how best to avoid dangerous situations, and whom to contact if one becomes a crime victim.  Common-sense precautions such as visiting only legitimate business and tourist areas during daylight hours, and avoiding areas where prostitution and drug dealing might occur, can help ensure that travel to Mexico is safe and enjoyable."
