    What to do in Belize?

I will be traveling on the Glory with my Mom(in a wheelchair), my husband and myself.  Any input on what to do?  Carnival does not offer handicapped accessible shore excursions.  We will be also going to Costa Maya.  I did find a private tour company for that leg of the trip who can accomodate the wheelchair and has a most intersting excursions. I still need input for the Belize part of the trip.

    Thanks

    Judy

Belize is a tender port.  If your mother is confined to a wheelchair she'll likely be better off staying on the boat.  If she is simply more comfortable in a wheelchair and can walk enough to navigate the big boat -> little boat thing, then ... there's a little bit of shopping in the port district of Belize City, and a restaurant or two.  But not a lot.

When is your next cruise? You don't have a ticker and I see that you are on this forum a lot.

I am just curious when you are going to get that free laundry!!!!!!!!!!!

    When is your next cruise?

If all goes well, this July when I treat my son and future daughter in law to their wedding present.

    You don't have a ticker

I have signatures and tickers and photos turned off.  Saves bandwidth and loading time.

My mom is in a wheelchair as well and I'd never try to take her into Belize....just stay on the ship.  You're not missing anything and the trouble would not be worth it.  I may stay on the ship there as well.  I wasn't at all impressed the last visit there.

Re: What to do in Belize?

I was able to find a private travel agency used by others on this website.  I emailed them and they do have things available for those in a wheelchair.  I thought I'd share the info with you.  See below:

    info@cavetubing.bz

Sure, you could do a tour that involved a Maya site and the Belize Zoo.
I'm sending a map. That would take up all the time you would have while
in port. This would include a city tour, and it would likely be just the
3 of you. Then the tour could be individualized. This would include
everything, transportation, entrance fees, tour guide fees, water, soft
drinks, rum punch and lunch (the Belizean stewed chicken with rice and
    beans cooked in coconut milk.)

I'll get the price for this tour for you and get back to you.
