Mexican Cuisine Cooking & Tasting - Anyone Done This?

My friend and I are going on our first cruise in April and want to know about excursions.  We both like cooking and are interested in doing the Mexican Cuisine Cooing & Tasting excursion in Cozumel?  Has anyone done this one before?

I have done the following excursion but done it privately and found it very enjoybale. Josefina Luigi is the lady who is in charge of the following and she has a very good reputation in the following industry in Cozumel. Whether you are cruising or stay in the Island for a few days you are more than welcome to join her. She is located down town and so you can do some shopping when you are done with her.

Before the class starts she normally take her students on a local market tour to purchace everything need to cook on hat day and so you get a feel of the local people as well. You get to enjoy what you cooked and also receives a certificate after the lessons.

For mor information you can contact her on the following e-mail: nmatlhong@hotmail.com

Some of my companions did it last week and it sounded great.  First, the cooking class itself is really good - I think they made Grouper in banana leaves, among other things.  Then it is located on a great beach with hammocks, etc.  And then it has an open bar - beer, tequila, wine, for the entire period.  I wish I had done it!

My wife and I just got back from Cozumel on Imagination and we loved the Cooking class.  Luis and his assistant were very fun and the food was great.  Open bar sure helped as well.  We had a couple of hours after we ate our self made meal to play on the beach with everything included.  We made a great rice pudding type dessert as well as authentic appetizer and cooked fish.  It was a very fun 2 hours with the staff.
