Carla,  How was your Holiday cruise in October?  Hope you had a great time!  So, here is my question to you....have you any cruise planned for 2010?  I ask because I have booked myself and daughter on the Dream for May 14, 2010 and would love to hang out with you.  If you are married, then would like to hang with both you and your husband....I don't know what your situation may be, but still would like to get together if you might be interested.  Not trying to be pushy, just inquiring.

 We had a wonderful time. However, my Dad had a stroke the day after we got off the ship. Luckily, I was able to get him to the hospital in time to get emergency care. He's recovering. Looks like our next one will be next summer on the Triumph. I'll know closer to time if he will be able to handle it. I'd go today if I could

 Carla, Will your Dad be able to make a full recovery?  Don't know which state you live in, but do remember its one of the Southern states.  Will your Dad be able to go with you on the Triumph next summer?  Hope, even with all the stress thats been in your life, that you are doing ok.

He has made a full recovery. Thank goodness! We live in Alabama and he's in Mississippi. I will take him with me if he's able. He really wants to do the Triumph. It will be out of New Orleans which is not too far from where he lives. That will make it easy on me! If 7 days proves to be too strenous for him, we could always take the Elation out of Mobile which is even closer for him. As for me, I just love to be on the water, a cruise, sailboat...whatever I am apprehensive about the larger ships. I guess I just love the intimacy of the smaller ones. You will have to let us all know about the Dream! 

I assume your husband must like to cruise too!  I was on the Paradise back in March 2004 for our(myself and daughter) first cruise and really liked the ship.  We have also been on the Miracle...also smaller than both the Triumph and Glory.  As u know, the Dream is larger than the Triumph and Glory, so I will let u know about it.  If you are willing to provide me your email address, I would be able to send you fotos from my recent cruise...if you like.  Not  trying to worm my way in with you guys, just willing to send you my cruise fotos.

My husband won't go. My Dad always made sure to provide a family vacation every year when we were kids. So,,,I've taken on that role with my son. My Dad loves to cruise, I drag him along too Gotta get to work.

My last 2 cruises my daughter didn't come with me.  The last one, Glory that departed Oct. 24 my daughter was in school, but the one before that she told me that when she is on the ship she gets bored.  It seems as tho its kinda hard for her to meet people in her age group...even if there ARE others her age on the ship.  She is 19, turns 20 February 2010.  She does like doing excursions(who doesn't)!  

I get up by 4:30am as my work day starts at 6am.  I work for a major airline at O'hare airport in Chicago.    Talk with you later.

Here I go again. I've tried twice before to blog and it didn't go through. Bored? That's something I've never been on a cruise. My son who's 10 loves cruising also. Maybe next time she can bring a friend along. That will loosen her up enough to make friends.

 What did you end up doing on the Glory? I know you were going to go on some excursions with some of the bloggers. We went the week after you did. We had a blast. The only complaint about the ship I have was we had a hot room. Who stays in the room though? I don't sweat the small stuff!

Too bad you weren't on the Holiday with us in October. We did have a wonderful time. I love that old ship!

Nope, none of the bloggers, that I know of anyway, did an excursion together.  Its really late now, 11:40 and I need to get to bed.  Will fill u in on what I did on the Glory....geez, have been back home a week tomorrow..saturday..boohoo....I really like to cruise.  Doesn't matter very much just what I do while on a cruise....do I sound really easy to please?  Must be cause I am.

I knew you did the one in May. You just got back from another one? Was it on the Glory as well?

I know I must seem really spoiled.  Not really, for in 2010 I am pretty certain only be going on the 1 cruise I have booked.  You know, the Dream on May 15 that I mentioned to you.  Do I have loads of money.......wish I did, but the answer is no.  I had a lot of things going on....yes, I know we can't run away from ourselves, but this year taking 3 cruises really seemed to have helped me out.  Hope I don't come across as 1 of those really spoiled people, cause that is NOT how I am.  I have a small townhome, 2 cats(Moca and Bob) and 1 dog(Nikki) who will turn 17 in January.  I treasure my pets, and all of them love getting attention.  So, hope your weekend is a good 1.  Where I live in Schaumburg, IL this weekend the weather is just great.  Saturday made it to 71 and is supposed to be either as warm or just a wee bit cooler.  Awfully nice for November, and mostly sunny also!

NO. I don't think you're spoiled. I think it's great you can do that for yourself. The only reason I took 2 this year was because the price was right both times. Cruises are so affordable. I would go more often if I could. If I was still living in Mobile....lookout! Anyway, cruises are kind of an escape for me. A place I can just be plain ole me. I would love to go on one for Spring break. I think I'll just wait for June though. As a huge Jimmy Buffett fan, I would love to see Key West. That's one place I've wanted to see for a long time. I'm afraid I might get there and won't want to leave.I don't have any pets at the moment. I have in the past though. Their devotion is so unconditional. It's been beautiful here also. This time of year, I long for the coast because of the warmer weather there. Take care.

On your cruises have you ever sailed to the Western Caribbean?  I ask because--yes, I know its still a long way off--but we are stopping at Cozumel, Belize, Roatan Island and Costa Maya.  We have cruised the Western itinerary twice before and enjoyed it.  The last time being on the Glory this past January.  We snorkeled near Bannister Island in January and loved it.  Bannister Island was nice, but nothing really special.  Which excursions have you taken at these ports? 

Belize-we took a bus out to Altun Ha, the Mayan ruins. It was beautiful. Dad says he would like to see Belize again as would I for sure. Costa Maya, we just got off the ship and went to an open air restaurant that had a pool and sat and talked. It's hard to plan excursions with a small child and an elderly parent. I would like to do a lot of the excursions offered and hope to one day. Top of the list, go on that Catamaran...That would be too wonderful! I love to sail. I would like to go on that pirate ship also. I think my son would get a kick out of it. I've never been to Roatan. I've heard it's nice though.Y'all will have a great time!

I have been on excursions 2 or 3 times...can't recall, but its either one...where we were on a catamaran.  Just as you envision it to be...they are simply the best.  While on Glory this past May in St Maarten went on the Golden Eagle Catamaran adventure.  The swells must have been 3-4 feet.  I loved it but a friend who I went with got terribly sea sick and we couldn't finish the excursion.  The excursion went to be a beach(Mullet Beach) to be exact and we spent a few hours there before getting a taxi back to the port.  Look up Mullet Beach on Google.......its so beautiful there.  Perfect sand, water was simply the best, and its lined with palm trees.  Picture Perfect is u ask me.

Well, am up late because I can't sleep.  Been up for about 20 minutes now so gonna go back to bed and try to get to sleep as I must be up by 430 for work.
