The Legend's nice, but the chandeliers in the dining room are decorated with what looks like dusty pop bottles.  Our table mates [female portions] were distracted by this; I think they were both compulsive cleaners who didn't like the dusty look.

    Have fun.

I see you quite often on here. Our school competed with you this year. We live in Lawrenceville. Can't wait to go in July on the Legend.

my son is now 15 and is really looking forward to the cruise on the 12th, we went on Glory 2 years ago and he had attitude and he was bored, until he dragged himself to the club and had a blast, during the day they hung out together and played cards (free cards from information desk) when they weren't in organized activities, we never saw him....day or night. He had his soda card which allowed him to drink as much as he wanted (not normally allowed at home). he ate at the buffet when he was hungery or ate pizza from the 24hour pizza place, teenage boys dream all you can eat 24 hours a day.... Our only rule then and this year is when we are going to bed he has to go to bed, no wandering the ship whilst we were sleeping.... i just can't face allowing him do that, my fear of boys being silly and one falling over board....

also have daughters who are 8 and 12 and all they talk about is going to the clubs again, and dressing up for formal night.

If your teenager is willing to try the clubs they will have a blast just remind him all the other kids are feeling just the same way he is!

We are going on the Legend on July 12th, 2009 as well.  We just booked it this weekend after my boss and one of my coworkers came back with rave reviews.  (we were looking on one on RC as well but did not want to drive to Miami)  We have two kids, a son 12 and a daughter 16.  They are very excited and can't wait.  We are deciding on excursions - but am not sure if we are booking through Carnival or going on our own.  We have heard mixed reviews and have mixed feelings about it ourselves.  We really want to do the cave tubing in Belize but Carnival does not offer it anymore.  My coworker and his kids loved it.  Also they did the segway and snorkeling trip in Cozumel-- I believe?   The Monkeys in Isla Roatan were also recommended.  My daughter is into horseback riding so we are looking into that.  They are not sure about the sting ray thing but my boss said it is a must do.  Loved it -- and so did her kids. (her kids are 8 and 10)  They did not want to get off the ship!  Can't wait - am looking forward to it! Would love to hear anything you know on excursions!

This is my very first cruise and we are going on the 12th of July, too.

I decided to take my 62nd birthday on a cruise and the only person I am taking with me is my baby sister.

I am really excited about it and really pray we won't be floating out at sea then and hit the 4 ports.

Actually, I am kinda nervous about the whole thing.  Strange, isn't it?

I found it strange that I could not get a direct flight from Ft Walton Beach, Fl but that is ok, cause I have to fly up to Atlanta and she will join me on the flight down since that is our home town.

Looking forward to some fun time finally!

    Have a blessed week.

I'm the "baby" sister that gets to cruise with my sister turning 62 during the cruise.  I am so excited!  I went on a cruise for my senior year in high school so this will be the first one in 30 years.

Hi everyone, We are also going on the July 12th cruise, we are from Omaha Ne. I have a 12yr old boy and a 15yr old daughter.  I am excited, they are sure they are going to be bored.  We have never been on a cruise so I hope they are wrong.  We are doing the excursions thru the cruise, I heard that way you are sure of getting back on the boat in time.  We are doing the zip line park for sure in Cozumel, it has been recc. to me by many!  The cave tubing sounds excellent in Belize, if you know more about that please let me know!  We want to do the snuba too.  Any suggestions on things to pack etc?

Wow - all the way from Omaha!  We are from the Tampa Bay area so we have an easy commute to the ship.  I have been on a cruise before - not with the kids - but I do not think they will be bored.  There are a ton of things to do.  My kids are the same age.  We are doing the cave tubing in Belize, however, Carnival, as far as I know, does not offer it anymore.  We are doing it through Major Tom's Cave Tubing after reading the reviews on here and Trip Advisor.  Trip Advisor is a very good website if you have not checked it out before.

I have heard to bring an extension cord because they do not have many plugs and also if you have any of those 3M hooks that you can pull off because hanging area is sparse for families.  This is just what was suggested to me from some coworkers that just went on it.

Can't wait - am very excited to go

Thanks, I'll look up the cave tubing, sounds great!  And thanks for the ideas of stuff to bring.  I assume laptops and phones don't work?  Don't know how the kids will live without texting for a week, but I'd sure like to find out, dang phones anyway.  Hopefully the kids will all make some fast friends and enjoy themselves, does sound like there is alot to do.  I called the club area a disco and my daughter was hysterical.   It was the closest thing I could think to describe it, guess I dated myself.  We have to be at our airport by 5am to get to Tampa in time, your lucky!  Gonna be a long first day.  Still can't wait tho.
