Hey just wanted to let everyone know to check out Cheapcruises.com. I booked my Cruise on Carnival Miracle March 21st, 2009 for two Balcony rooms directly with Carnival back in August for $979.00 per person before all extra charges FSC etc. Cheapcruises.com had the same room category actually the room was 4 doors down from my two rooms I have booked for only $829.00 per person. So that is $150.00 saving per person so Carnival adjusted my cruise price so my final payment went down $600.00 bucks for both bookings for four people. Just thought I let everyone know.!!!  We did the same thing for our cruise, although with a different company.   We ended up saving about $600 for our 1 extended balcony room, and we were able to keep our same room.   I think this is partly due to a travel company offering a group rate and it was combined with a new resident rate for our cruise.   However it happens - I'm grateful.  

Many thanks for the heads up on this.  My wife and I are on the same cruise and just called Carnival and got our rate reduced as well.  If we had waited for our PVP to call us we would never have received the discount.  Again, THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION.  Hope to see you in March.  Happy cruising.

No problem it is always nice to pass around money saving tips especially when you can save $150.00 per person. Keep checking that website out if the rate goes down more as we get closer we can get it adjusted again and if you paid in full you will get On Board Credit.

Yep, it is good practice to check at least once every few days for price reductions as well as free upgrades if you have booked a lower cat room no matter how you booked initially.  Pvp's seldom if ever will call you with a reduction...

I'm all for saving money. Will this work even if your cruise is paid in full ?  Even if you purchased cruise at Carnival.com and it's another website with lower prices ? I need to get the facts on this because my cruise ( Destiny 1/31/09 ) is $120.00 less per person on these other sites. By-the-way wishing you great enjoyment on the March 21st cruise........

I purchased mine from Carnival.com for a March 15 cruise.  I was told on Nov 28 to call carnival and ask about a past guest rate for our cruise. It was a one day only deal. The lady that told me about it found it on another site. I called my PVP with Carnival and had mine reduced $560. I haven't yet paid the balance. She had already paid hers in full to another travel agency and was given a $1000 credit on her credit card for 2 rooms.It pays to keep checking.  Good Luck.

Hello Werdnapaul yes this will work on it even if you purchased your cruise from Carnival.com and find a lower rate an another website. I booked on Carnival.com and found a better rate on cheapcruise.com and called carnival and told them the website and the rate I seen the person I spoke to looked up the website told me Good Find and adjusted my rate right away! Thanks for the comment I hope my Cruise is great It's my first I'm going with a bunch of Family. Also Have a great time yourself on the Destiny!!!!!! 

 

Hi - my reply isnt about savings, sorry - but you mentioned that you are booked on the destiny - I just cruised the destiny august of this year - it was horrible - we went in the middle of a construction project - constant drilling, machinery everywhere, certain parts of the decks were unavailable because they were stowing the machinery, we were even asked to leave our stateroom for maintenance  - thats just some of the crap that went on - if you want to read more, I posted a review under the name Just Me

Just wanted to give you the heads up since no one from Carnival decided to do that for my family...

BTW - another site that gives you great prices is www.lastminutecruises.com - for the future.
