We went on the 11/16 trip.  The weather was so rough our Jamaica stop was canceled.  The next day was in Grand Cayman, but the waters were still so choppy that the ship had to tender us from what I believe was a different part of the island they usually use.  They had a shuttle for us ($5 per person each way) that took us to what I believe they said was the ship's normal stop in GC (using tender boats).  Margaritaville was right there and was an absolute blast!!!!

    Have loads of fun!!!  CoolParadise

Does anyone know the difference between the Margaritaville in Grand Cayman and the one in Jamaica?  Which one should I visit?

The Margaritaville in Key West is on Duval Street. Depending on where you dock.... if Mallory Square, it's an easy walk or if the military base (you can't walk, you are shuttled by trolleys into town) it's several blocks from where the trolley drops you downtown.

I've been to both the Margaritaville in Grand Cayman and in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Personally I liked the one in Jamaica better, but both were good. The one in Grand Cayman is right across the street from the tender port and the pool and bar are upstairs on the roof. The one in Ocho Rios is a short distance from where we docked (about a 3 minute cab ride) but if you are not paying attention it's can be hard to find. It's in a shopping area but you wind through a long path and it's near the back on the beach. The pool at the Margaritaville in Ocho Rios had a swim up bar, the one in Grand Cayman does not. Both have slides. Enjoy your cruise!

    Happy Sailing!!

Thanks so much for the reply. We will probably stop at the one we have the most time, since they both sound great.

We walked to the Margaritaville in KeyWest...its a LONG walk.  We walked all over KeyWest, to Duval street, the Southern most point and back, but like I said it was a long, long walk, next time I will catch a trolly or cab.

But you  *can* walk...it *can* be done.

Definitely go to the Margaritaville in Grand Cayman over the one in Montego Bay Jamaica! The Jamaica one was clean but, small and not very Jimmy Buffet like. We took the HotSpot tour in MoBay and I would advise you to stay with a group and do NOT walk except for right around Margaritaville. Take the HotSpot shuttle to every scheduled stop. Even if they seem close to each other, do not walk on your own. Trust me, we tried it and we were approached by several different locals asking us to follow them, give them money, etc.We didn't go to the Margaritaville in Grand cayman but, we did go to the one in Cozumel. It was nice and we loved EVERYTHING about Cozumel!!!! We felt very safe! We ate lunch at Las Palmeras and the Pico de Gallo is the BEST I have ever eaten!!!!! The Fish tacos were wonderful!!!!
