There is no set time when it will be assigned. could be anytime from about 60 days out right up to the time you check in at the port....

One time we didn't find out our room assignment until we arrived at the port with a TBA. It was worth the wait we went from a cat.6 OV to a cat.11 suite.Big Smile

We have been on many TBA cruises but refresh my memory.  If you still don't have your cabin number when you board, what room do you put on your luggage tags?  I honestly don't remember.

Thanks Ken  I couldn't remember on our TBA cruises how we made out the luggage tags.  We may have our cabins assigned by time we get our documents.

Sorry about not knowing what a TBA is but what is it?  We are leaving on the Conquest this Sunday and we booked a year in advance and have never been upgraded.  How does that work?

    Thanks.

TBA/Guarantee cabins are essentially this; You book your cruise within a certain Category, 8A, 4B, etc.....you choose the category you are willing to take, and leave the rest up to Carnival. They will then contact you with your specific cabin number closer to your sail date, and you maintain a chance of being upgraded to a higher category. The TBA/Guarantee situation is also cheaper than picking your own room assignment when booking.

    Re: qts about tba cabins

We book most of our cruises TBA.  I think it is fun to see what you get in upgrades.  One cruise we were on the Riviera deck, the rest have been upgraded, some as high as the eighth deck.  It doesn't really matter where we are, I think all the cabins are the same no matter how high or low.  If I had my preference, I like the aft of the ship, we are usually in between the dining room and the Lido deck (not so much walking.)  We have also upgraded to an outside cabin.  I prefer to spend as little as possible for the cabin, we only use it to sleep.  It is more fun to spend money on shopping.
