Less than 6 months to go!  Any one else on this cruise?

That would be US!  This is the FIRST roll call I've seen for our cruise - now THAT'S exciting!  As our name would imply, we are first time cruisers.  I "inadvertantly" paid off the cruise yesterday.  I called Carnival to make a payment on the cruise, the "vacation specialist" took all the necessary info from me EXECPT the amount that I wanted to pay and she went ahead and confirmed payment for the entire balance!  AHHH!!  A transfer of funds will have to take place before the first of the month, that's all I have to say.  But, on the brighter side, the cruise is paid for, now we only have to amass the monkey head funds....

Welcome Aboard!!   Where are you from? My husband and I have been away this week on vacation celebrating our 27th anniversary.  He does not like to cruise so we went to las Vegas which is where we spent the last 2 days of our honeymoon 27 years ago. We have one daughter, age 23 who is currently in Barcelona Spain teaching English.

  I  generally cruise with my sister and sister-in-law and usually 2 to 4 others.  This will be our 6th cruise.  One was with my husband to Alaska, One with 20 girlfriends and one annually since 2006 with my sister and sister-in-law. We have a lot of fun.  This will be the first time on the Legend.  Excited to try a new ship. 

We are from Northern VA (Fairfax) about 15 miles from Washington, DC.  This cruise will be a first for my husband and me.  We never had a honeymoon, we had 4 kids instead!  We've been married 25 years but my husband was married before and has a son from that marriage who I consider as mine as well even though I didn't actually give birth to him.  That son is 28 and he and his wife are having a baby in Feb. just before our cruise!  First grandchild!  We have a daughter in grad school studying to be a doctor of physical therapy, another son in college to become an IT professional and another son who will graduate from high school in June.  It's a busy year and we are SERIOUSLY looking forward to and in need of the cruise.  He and I have never been away together, ALONE, for more than two days in 25 years so this will be FUN.  I have four older sisters and every few years we have a "sisters reunion" and in 2006 we all went to Paris, France.  Had the TIME OF MY LIFE!  I hope to go back there with my husband one day when we get used to this traveling together thing.

Sounds like you have had your hands full for the last 25 years and definately need a vacation with your husband.  My Husband isn't a fan of cruising so I go with the girls ad actually have a  lot more fun. He goes to the races in Daytona in Feb and I go on a cruise in March.  We really hadn;t been away together for more than 2 days until my daughter went to college.  She went to DC so we didn't see her too often and now that she is in Spain, we will almost never see her.  I have a cruise booked with a large group next fall on RCC and have booked my daughter in my cabin hoping she can go, otherwise I will need to find a friend or my husband to go.  But for now I am counting down the days til March 22, 2009. 

What does your daughter do in Spain??  Maybe you should go visit her?  I hear Spain is LOVELY!  And I'm pretty sure it's surrounded in part by ocean, so you could cruise there too.

My daughter teaches English. She is trying to save $$ and decide what she wants to do with her life and go back to school for her Masters. We did go to Spain last Christmas for 4 days, had a good time but hard not knowing the lanquage.That is one of the cruises I would like to do someday.

Do you have a selected or guaranteed cabin?  Inside , Oceanview, or balacony?  We have booked balconies for the last few times, wouldn;t go any other way now.  WE love sitting out there in the AM Early and in the PM Late.  145Days!!!!!

Also forgot to ask you if you have visited Cruise Critic there is also a roll callon there and a few people have responded althought not too many.

We booked a guaranteed cabin in category 8A which is an unobstructed balcony.  We intend to go out there every morning and every night.  The closest thing to a body of water around here is the Potomac River, and though boating on it in the summer is fun, it's no Carribbean.

I have been on cruise critic quite a bit, but must've missed the roll call.  I'll check again.  Thanks for the heads up!

I've been working on the last cruises slide show. Still not even close... But today I am checking the boards and pretending the cruise will be here before I know it
