    Help--Empress vs. Lido

Hi am currently mid ship on empress deck on Triumph, but for an additional $20 we can now go to the lido deck. Why do I want to be up on a higher deck--I DONT KNOW, but I do. So I'm trying to decide the good and bad of Lido vs. Empress. If on the empress we go up two floors for the pool/buffet, and down two floors for dining. Kinda in between everything. We spend alot of time on the Lido deck so theres a benefit, but would have to go down 4/5 decks for casino/dining room etc. What do y'all think???????

It is totally your call. Both decks are great. If you stay on the Empress deck that is an extra $$ you can spend elsewhere. What ever you choose have a great time!

Keep your mid-ship Empress stateroom.  Those mid-ship elevators get you almost to everywhere, even the Lido deck, they come out right by the pool and deck chairs, the buffet line is right around the corner.  The Empress is a very quiet deck at the mid-ship area--staterooms below you and nothing real loud that you hear above you.  And little to none feeling any movement.

    Re: Help--Empress vs. Lido

It is really a personal choice.  We have been on every deck from the Riviera to the eighth deck and I haven't found any difference in any of the cabins.  We have been in outside cabins and inside from the front to the far aft and they are all good.  I personally like the upper decks in the aft so I get rocked to sleep at night.  The rougher the better for me.  I like the extra $$ to spend in port, on excursions or just plain shopping on the ship.  Carnival usually upgrades us but if they didnn't, I really wouldn't mind.  Of course, I would never turn down an upgrade.  Have a great cruise no  matter what you choose.

I agree with The Older Folks....I usually book the Empress deck...it is  where the suites are (for a reason).Alot less noise from the public areas...easy to get around as stated...elevators...

    lianro,

We had room on the Lido deck just inside from the pool. At first we were not sure if it was going to be noisy and how the traffic noise would be but as it turned out it was one of our favorite rooms. The location was great! any time we wanted to go back to the room for something it was right there.

I don't know where your stateroom is exactly on the Empress deck, but we were there last time in room 7369 to be exact.  We were right across the hall from the steward's station. It was HORRIBLY noisy!  They talked loud on the phone all night, banged doors and pots. I finally had to go and buy ear plugs.  Plus, I don't know why people think they have to slam the balcony door, it closes well without slamming.  We heard that all night too.  We are on the Lido deck this time and I have read very good reviews on it.  We will see.  We still had a good time on the last cruise, even though we were sleep deprived! LOL!

Forgot to mention that we had a balcony room.
