    Rental Car

We are leaving on the Valor 11/16/08 flying into Orlando on11/15/08.  Can anyone tell me about rental cars in and around the port?  Will they have shuttle service to the port? Gosh so much for this newbie!

     Thanks,

     Sue

You can get transfers to the port, or use a shuttle service. Mears is one company but they tend to be expensive for the 1 way to the Port.

You can rent a car from the airport, either when you get there or reserve one. Drive to Port Canveral, drop it off at the rental car place and they will shuttle you for free right to the port. It cost us about $50 one way and gas for an intermediate car.We used Avis, they were easy to find in Port Canaveral and very friendly.  All of the rental car agencies are easy to spot right along the main road.

    Thestapels,

Good catch, I didn't even think about that - I assumed (obviously incorrectly) that the ship was departing from Port Canaveral.

    Hi Sripka,

The Valor is sailing out of Miami on the 16th of November so if you are flying into Orlando; there are no transfers from Orlando to Miami so you will have to rent a car.  Most car rental agencies with drop offs in Miami have transfer services to the pier but are you going to need the car after the cruise to get back to Orlando or will you be staying in Miami?

Yes we will be flying in on the 15th and staying the night in Orlando with some friends and driving to Miami on the 16th for the cruise.  Then again driving back to Orlando after the cruise to catch out flight back home to PA.
