    Re: bad reviews

Remember a cruise is what you make of it, and its better than being at work.  I've read some people weren't impressed with the food, well I won't be cooking it and it won't be hamburger helper, so how bad could it be?  As far as not being impressed with entertainment, everyone has different taste from what I've read they do a country music show, if you don't like country you probably wouldn't care for the show. And we don't get out of the house much, so how will we know if it's bad or not?!

Just go knowing nothing is perfect, there may be something you don't like, there may be a problem,  but you're on vacation, on a cruise, going outside the USA, how bad could it be?  And the price of the cruise was very reasonable so don't expect a $5000 cruise when you paid far less.  BTW if you haven't called Carnival to see if you can get credit on your sail & sign card since the prices have gone down, you need to call asap.

    See ya

    Re: bad reviews

We went on the Ecstacy last Sept we loved it. I was sad when we pulled back into Galveston Sad I was ready to call Carnival to book again and we did that. My daughter and i are going Oct 27th and sooooo ready to go. I thought the food was really good,on the lido deck and our dinner. Anything beats cooking it yourself Wink I thought the entertainment was excellent. The only thing i didn't care for was the spa. It was not that good. But other than that we had a blast. I am hooked on cruises!!!

we have been on the ecstasy twice.....april 2007 and march 2008.  we enjoyed both cruise's. i think all the negative you have been hearing is due to unhappiness over the hurricane situation/ new terminal, etc.

we are ready to take cruise #8 in less than 2 months and starting cruising 10 yrs ago. i will say the service and all has gone down a bit. face it, every business in the nation has faced cut backs of one sort or the other so we take all that into account. the service you get at any business has dropped alot in the last 2-3 yrs. we have had wonderful treatment on all cruises and i did notice a slight decline on the past two so i am assuming it is the 'TIMES' we are in, not the ship. i was a bit shocked at the upkeep (cleaning, etc) but it was still better than my house.ha   i am like the others, i aint cooking and cleaning, so how bad can it be.

actually our first 5 cruises may of been a bit overboard. i like being pampered but it was extreme, so maybe the lack of attention has it's rewards.

go have a good time, don't miss anything and all will be great. if you don't like the food one place, so somewhere else as there are choices everywhere.

I just sent my personal vacation planner, Jose, an email about getting credit on my sign & sail card.  Let's see what reply I get.  If ya'll don't have a PVP, you need to call Jose.  He is wonderful, ALWAYS calls back, or emails, anything you ask, he will help with.  I have even given his name and number to friends.

I don't know what you cruisers who complain about Carnival want.  We just got off our second cruise on the Ecstasy and it was wonderful.  We have also been on the Conquest six times and never one complaint.  The food is as good as ever as well as the entertainment.  As far as the entertainment is concerned, we didn't go to all the shows but the ones we attended were great, specially the last show "Extreme country. " If you don't line country music, take the ships out of the East Coast.  We Texans like our country music and there wasn't enough as far as I was concerned.  I am not sure about Caribbean music on the Lido deck, we were too busy doing other things.  We have been on Royal Caribbean and we were bored to tears.  They roll up the sidewalks at 9p.m. definitely not a "fun ship".  Keep your RCCL and what you consider pampering, give me a Carnival cruise anytime including on the Ecstasy.  Can't wait until our December cruise on the Miracle.

I don't think they are complaining i just think they are concerned about what they have been told and have read on here.  First cruise who wouldn't be concerned. I had a blast on our first cruise which was the Ectasy and we are going to have a blast on this one :}}}  Have a good weekend!!!

We were on this ship in May and had a great time. I mean, you do need to have realistic expectations... it is not a Celebrity cruise. But, we thought the rooms were very nice, clean. The ship decor was a bit flashy and outdated, but not a big deal. The service was very good, and the food was mostly very good. My husband and I long to go again.....

My stepmom is going today with her friend who loves this ship and has been on her many times.

    Re: bad reviews

When you book a cruise on the Ecstasy, you must keep in mind, the ship is 17 years old.  It will not be as up-to-date as a new ship.  They keep it spotless, they are polishing from morning until night.  I have been up on the LIdo deck at 5a.m. with the deckhands and every inch of the outside deck are scrubbed and hosed down.  The decor is old but it is a great ship.  It is a little smaller than some of the newer ships, but we have a great cruise on her whenever we go.  Don't be afraid to cruise on the Ecstasy.  I am not crazy about Progresso but we just shop around the pier and enjoy the rest of the day onboard.

Myself (29), my 2 kids 8,9, and my nephew 12, just took our first cruise in life with the Carnival Ecstacy on 09/25/08.  It was great!!!  So many memories, we all want to go again and are planning the cruise for next year.  I thought this was a really friendly ship!

Someone said it earlier, its what you make of it.  Some people will complain about anything and take things a little too seriously I think.  If the entertainment is not good laugh at it!  If the dining room food is not good, leave and get something from the deck!  Drink and be happy!

We had a great cruise and hope you enjoy yours!!!!!!!!!!!!!
