I DO NOT recommend the jungle tubing!!!!!! IT was sooooooooo BORING!!!!!!!!!  The ride there was ok.  Some scenery in the "jungle" part.  The tubing was so boring, but, if you want to relax it may be what you are looking for. It wasnt worth the money. The young guys that took us on the river were hysterical! As far as hitting "some" rapids...ha, there werent any! I was very embarassed on the ride back.  We went through a very poor section. And looking at how some of them lived I felt like a jerk.  Here I was spending all this money to vacation and there they were watching us go through.  We should have gone to Dunns River.  Also, Margarittaville was a lot of fun! A bit crazy, but, we all love to people watch. And they have a really cool waterslide from the top floor that goes into the ocean!!!!

I don't agree with amy... we went on the river tubing at Chukka Cove, and thought it was great!!'There was nothing boring about it!!

Admittedly, there were no huge rapids, just a few small falls, but it was a lovely trip through the jungle, with a very funny group of guides, who were joking and singing songs all the way!!

If you want "danger and excitement" , maybe it's not the trip for you... but it's sure safer than cave tubing in Belize!!

Also... about  feeling  bad about the poverty... every time a cruise ship pulls into Jamaica, it brings extra revenue to the country.... tourism only helps the economy.

I recommend Dunn's River Falls for certain!!  However, I've been twice now and the second time I booked with a private tour company.  I would highly recommend this because you arrive before the large crowds from the cruiseship and you hike the falls in a much smaller group.  It seemed much more enjoyable to me.  Also, the private tour cmpanies are a lot less expensive.

    Hope this helps.

P.S. The private tour company we used was www.jamaicaphil.com (Phil Lafayette Tours).  Great tour guide!  I highly recommend him.  Also the Dunn's River Falls excursion with Fern Gulley was only $35.  A bargain!  And he doesn't require any type of credit card deposit in advance.  You simply pay cash at the end of your activities.  No worries about who gets your credit card number.
