    Shopping, Beach, and Lunch

    Hello Everyone!

Has anyone done the Shopping, Beach, and Lunch excursion in Mazatlan?  I am wondering if it is worth it, and would like to hear thoughts and comments before I book!  Thank you!

    Happy Cruising,
    Kristina

    Re: Shopping, Beach, and Lunch

Was in Mazatlan 2 years ago on Disney Magic and took the Mazatlan tour.  We did not like it, as it was hot, not much to see and ended in a folkloric show that was in a hot cramped outdoor theater. On Christmas day we were back in Mazatlan.  We read about Stone Island online and decided to give it a try.  Expecting a large resort we were shocked to find it a small seaside outdoor café/bar on the sand covered by a thatched roof with several just like it on either side.  We had a great time.  Stone Island is where the locals go.  But, they cater to the cruise ship passengers so English is the language used.   The bars are not crazy, the beer was cheap and the food fresh.  The vendors were all over us but friendly and hand lots to offer.  It is rustic to say the least but we had fun and a relaxing afternoon on the beach.  Send the kids in the water it is warm and starfish are all over the place. If it sounds like something you want to do, after leaving the port terminal walk to the water taxi it cost 2 buck per person round trip.  Once on Stone Island you will be greeted by someone in a shack.  Tell them you want the taxi to Pipi’s, Victors or Carmelita’s.  Buy some beer buy some things from the vendors and just relax…also have the guy sketching do you and the family does a great job.

I go on it all the time and I just love it. You can do so many things on just one excursion. You will be able to have a wonderful lunch at plya Mazatlan which is  a very beautiful resort on the beach. It is set right in the middle of the shpping district. Then you will enjoy a wonderful show put on by the Papantla Flyers which will take your breath away, Then you can shop til you drop in many of the wonderful shops they have there. So Good Food, Great Show, Beautiful Beach where you can have ton's of fun. I would give this excursion a 100 % Guarantee you will have the time of your life Yes
