Laurie, I noticed you have been on several of the Carnival ships. My husband and I just returned from the Conquest that left Galveston on Sept. 7th. My daughter and her husband have been on the Conquest three time. They were also on our cruise, along with our three grandsons. We all had a great time. I was wondering which ship you preferred the best. I have also heard that most people prefer Carnival over Royal Carribean. I hope you have a wonderful time on your vacation.

 

It is true that we have been on several cruise ships from carnival. I love all the ships. Food wise, the Spirit was the best. I loved the Pride ship for entertainment. I also loved the Valor, they had the best fish n chip restaurant. I have never sailed on the conquest, but am really looking forward to it.  Did you check out the new DREAM ship by carnvial.  If the price goes down, i will book on that one as well.  Glad to see you had fun.  I would do Carnival over any other cruise line,  hands down.  If you take the kids, they love Camp Carnival, my grandchildren talk about Fun ship Freddie all the time.LOL

Congratulations! Is the ceremony before the cruise or on one of the islands? Just wondering as there were some disappointed  brides last month.

I don't want to add anymore stress to you as you near "your day". Due to hurricanes, many ports were missed, so some weddings were missed. I'm not sure how any of them turned out. We are sailing at the end of hurricane season but you never know what the weather is going to do. We have sailed at this time before and never had any problems. Will be REALLY hoping weather is great and your wedding goes off without a hitch. :-) Please don't get all stressed out now about the weather, at least wait until a week before. ;-)

Thanks everyone for the input.   We are getting really excited.  I'm on here all the time...looking around.   He just laughs at me.   This is our second cruise.   We both have been on one other cruise, separately, around ten years ago.   Laurie and  Mike....I'll just have to take you up on that drink!  Thanks!

laurie. we are going on the conquest on 12/7/08 we booked a room in laport texas at the Laquinta inn.from there it is 40 minutes away from galveston and i beleave it is about 15 or 20 minutes from bayport.we dont know were are ship will be sailing from but i think that is a good place to be .it is not to far from were we need to be.Galveston might not be ready by then to open up there hotels so i think laport is the best place to be for us just head souty on 146 and your there.you can look at google map and you will see how to get there.

Yes!!!!   I'm getting SOOoooo excited!  24 more days guys!!   Ran into a woman at Dillard''s, as I was shopping for this cruise, she went on the Conquest in April and just raved and raved about it.  She said it was the best ship she had every been on and had booked another cruise for next year.
