Dollar an inch Gold and Silver sales

I don't know about anyone else, but for my two cents worth, don't buy the Dollar an Inch gold and silver they sell on the ships. I have bought 2 necklaces and two bracelets, one each of gold and silver and had the same results from both, they lose their luster and my arm and neck turn green. Tried cleaners and nothing works, the gold and silver "coating" is just plain GONE. Fortunately, because it was on sale and I bought a long enough necklace, the brackelt was free, but still all in all, it was a bigger waste of money than anything we monkeyheads could waste on. But, if you really want to waste money, then by all means, spend loads on the gold and silver. It sure looks pretty when it is on the wheels and when they first make it, but if you wear it continually like I do, it doesn't take long for it to become a dull piece of nothing round your neck. Happy cruising to all that have cruises coming up.   Graywolf  Cool

Been there and did that on my 1st cruise. I learned it is just for show. I waste my money on the candy shop, excursions and of course $100+ per day goes to the drinks for hubby and I.

    Thanks, Linda

Oh wow!!! My NH (new hubby) and I bought beautiful bracelets from the inch of silver sale. So far (it's been a measly 8 days lol) I'm very happy with our pieces though we wear them as we would costume jewelry. We only put them on when going out, never to sleep, shower or even lounge with them on. If they last until our next cruise when I can get another one, I'll be happy. I didn't expect much more out of 'em.

    Thanks for the heads up!

Re: Dollar an inch Gold and Silver sales

Thanks for the input. Maybe they have changed things, but after I bought the first set, I took the faded necklace and bracelet on our next cruise. I went to the stand and showed them to the crewman that was selling there. He advised me that they were warrantied for a year and gave me new warranty papers and told me I had to have the sales receipt. Two days later, I went back and bought the silver set and on our next, last cruise, went back with both sets and was told the same thing, one year warranty and sales receipt required for replacement. Since the Sail and Sign receipts are history, just figured I bought the bullet and figured that I would just put them where I could see them to remind me not to buy anymore. As someone stated, they wear theirs only as costume jewelry and as such they will probably get alot of use from them, but I wore mine constantly, the bracelet was adapted for my Medic Alert emblem. I don't mind wasting money, but usually like something for the waste, like a glass of bourbon or several pulls on the handle in the casino.

My last cruise I just showed my faded jewelry and they exchange it with no problem,Yes I saved the receipt  but forgot it at home. was my cruise wedding and I forgot it. And also i decided to wear mine just a custome jewelry and spend my money in a nice expensive bottle of wine or more drinks of the day. Have a wonderful day and keepm counting days until your next cruise,
