Good idea ....  I'll make sure to bring some, altho, I think I need some now.  Horrible sore throat, Tongue Tied so I'm going to go to bed and watch Palin and Biden have at it.

Even if you are naturally tanned, you still will need sun blocker. I normally get a spray to help me from getting darker.

Ladies make sure to bring a small clutch purse or wristlet. I wore a lot of skirts and dresses with no pockets for my card and room key and didn't want to carry around my large purse so this was ideal!

I take a zipper luggage tag holder for my S&S card & spare cash for the casino, & clip it to a belt loop

Do you member what length bungee cord is needed? I went to purchase one and the sizes range from 18" up to 42". Is is a long stretch?

I brought an 18" bungee and it worked perfectly!

I wish we had taken binoculars and some walkie talkies.  Best thing we took was one of those plastic shoe holders that hook over a door.  I bought mine at Walmart for 6 bucks.  It kept everything organized and in sight. I hung it on the wall to the left of the TV and hooked it in the little holes up by the lights.  We kept everthing in it:  sign and sail cards, cell phone, watches, sunscreen, insect repelant, tip money (a few bucks) reading glasses (I never know where those are), etc.

Ya know, I took binoculars and I only used them once.  And that was in the Miami port watching someone watch us as we set sail!  Other than that, they didn't leave the case.

Oh my, it sounds like I had better start thinking about getting a few things packed!!

We leave on Monday... It’s our first cruise so all of these ideas are great

I think the Bungee is a great Idea!! Although I do have a mental image of my husband bungee jumping off the side of the ship!! It’s not pretty!!!!!

A lanyard (plastic card holder on a chain).  Used this on our second cruise to carry sail and sign card and it was the best thing ever - made it easy to keep track of the card in our room also just hung it on a hook.

Also took our own travel mug/large cup with lid.  Used them when making drinks in our rooms and for bringing juice etc back to the room for mix.  Also kept drinks cold when sitting in the sun.

My MonkeyHead. They didn't have  any on our last cruise. So I couldn't buy another one and had to do without. Sad

Okay.  Can someone tell me once and for all what a MonkeyHead is?!

A monkeyhead is a container that holds a drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) that is carved in a shape to looke like the head of a monkey.  It looks like it is carved out of a coconut.  The lid has a slot that can be used as a bank when finished with it.  It says "have fun" on the lower front of it.  It is way cool and all MonkeyHead members either have one or are seeking one on their next cruise.  "Happy Sailing"

Re: What do you wish you had taken??

I am so glad that someone asked what a monkey head is!!

I thought that had something to-do with the coconut drink holders……. but then I thought that this answer was too simple!!

    Thank you for clarifying this...

I was beginning to wonder if it might be some kind of sinister cult that only a few new about and practiced!!

    I feel so much better!!

    Cheers

Re: What do you wish you had taken??

Clothes pins come in handy in different ways. You can use them to hang your bathing suits on the line in the bathroom shower. You can also use them to keep the curtains closed if you are a late sleeper. We took our little girl last year and I would have loved to had straws in the dining room and in our stateroom. If you are going to the beach in port, you may want to think about taking an old beach towel. Carnival lets you use theirs but if you lose them, you pay....dearly. With the season over, you can catch them on clearance for next to nothing and if you lose it, you're not a lot of money. Remember to take cash and traveler's checks. They have an atm on board but the fee is high and then your bank will probably charge you too. You can cash the travelers checks for free at the Purser's desk. Lastly, a sports bottle or large cup with lid and straw. It is great to have so you don't have to keep going to lido buffet to get something to drink and they come in handy in port too. Have a wonderful time!!

    1. Two to three bathing suits (depening on the length of your cruise), so you always have a dry suit.
    2. Ladies: a wig or hairpiece for formal nights (if you've been swimming a lot).
    3. Airborne, Tylenol, Benedryl or Claritin.
    4. If you travel to the port by car: a case of (small) bottled water to save on the expense of onboard bottled water.
    5. AND THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE:  The Drops (http://www.thedrops.com/) A few drops go into the toilet before you use it to eliminate odors. The bathroom is a small area located in an enclosed stateroom. You definitely don't want to torture your roommates.  The Drops only cost $6.99 per bottle.

If you don't do anything else, remember No. 5!

    Bon Voyage!
