Well, add four more for the Valor sailing on Oct. 26th!  This will be my 5th cruise, my husband's 4th and the first for my parents who after many invitations to join us have decided to take the adventure!!  We are traveling mega economy (inside) since we do not intend to be in our cabins for much mre than sleeping.  We are also doing Stingray City in GC but booked with shoretrips.com.  In Roatan we are swimming with the dolphins.  Belize brings us to the rainforest (while my husband becomes SCUBA man on the reef).  Cozumel leads us to Tulum. 

 I have been doing lots of research on the ports and the ship.  Be advised about the sand fleas in Roatan (DEET and coconut oil seem to be the best repellent combo).

 Do any of you know which nights are formal dining?  Will there be a costume party for Halloween (and a birthday that was mentioned earlier in the thread)?

 We are insanely excited about the trip!  Three weeks from today!  Woooo Hoooo!

 I think that the formal (elegant) nights are the second and fifth night. This is what I gathered on this board and the "critic" board. Although I don't have complete confirmation that there will be a Halloween costume party, I think it is safe to assume that there will be one. I say this from reading a lot of posts from cruisers that have been over Halloween or right before it. Halloween is my 35th birthday. I am excited for it because I never do much of anything for my birthday but this year I will be in Cozumel.

 I am pretty sure they will be plenty of parties on the boat for Halloween.  lol, and I am just going to party every night to celebrate my birthday. :)

Thanks for the info.  Not much of a costume person...haven't been since college and those days are LONG behind me. 

Happy Birthday dkoenig!  What an awesome way to celebrate!  Especially when the one you love is there with you.  I had major surgery right before my birthday this past summer (turned 42...wow... I remember when that sounded like on the verge of death).  Birthday kind of stunk.  Feeling great now so time to vacation and see more of the world.

I wish Carnival would let us know more about what they have in store as far as formal nights and special occasions.  Not like they don't have plans :o)

I am also nervous about cruising with Carnival.  My honeymoon was aboard Carnival Destiny and it was aweful.  The room was ratty and the AC did not work.  Furniture includinng the bed were rickety and broken.  Hoping that the Valor, being a newer ship will be better and the time of year leaves me optimistic for not having a floating frat party like on Destiny back then.

I know... waaaaaaaaa.  Less than three weeks to go and I am indeed excited to say b-bye to Wisconsin for a stint.

 I got a Carnival email today talking about the Halloween activities. Seems like a costume party, trick or treating, etc. Also, they will be showing Ghostbusters on the big screen one night. It should be a lot of fun. I am keeping an eye out on the weather. At least the tropical depression hanging over Reattain and heading towards Belize should be gone by the time we get down there. Hey, we are just about at single digits!

did you send them an email requesting information or did they just email it to you.  I would love to see what they have planned. 

 It just came. I never requested anything from them. It was pretty short and also a general e-mail regarding all cruises in the second half of October. I guess our cruise is filled up because there is no option to book it anymore on the Carnival cruise search. It has been off the list for a few days now.

I saw it on an earlier post.  I have looked at singlescruise.com and vacationstogo and didn't see anything.  I believe their the the largest singles cruise sites, do I don't believe it is true.

I will be on the cruise with my partner. This is my second cruise with Carnival. My first one I was single, this is his first and I think he is more excited than he is acting. I'm very excited as this is our first "BIG" vacation together. I can tell you there is a group of about 80 hairstylists that will be on the cruise. We will be included in that group. OMG I'm getting really excited, we both need a get-away for a few days. I hope to meet a few new friends on the cruise, these things are fun, fun, fun! Happy sailing my friends!

 Well Jimbo, I hope you and your partner have a good time. I surprised my partner with this cruise as it was a gift to him. He has never really traveled so I wanted to do something kind of big. We have been together for four years now but usually just travel to the beach, etc. This will be his first cruise and I think he is going to love it. He seems to be getting more excited the closer we get, but I still don't think he comprehends the size of the ship, etc. I am so glad to be doing this with him. He is the kind of guy that only sees the positive side of everything. He already has a good cruiser attitude.
