Balcony Extended Room - Cat I Panorama Deck

First time cruising here.  We have been upgraded to an Extended Balcony Room and i was wondering if there is anyone out there that has photo's of what the rooms are like.  I am just curious.  I believe we will be in like 8150... or 8148 or something like that..(We sail on 10/12/2008 on Carnival Pride from Long Beach, CA)... LOL  I dont have my paperwork here with me.  If you do.. can you upload or send to me?  Just let me know.  3 wks, 3 days and we will be sailing away ... YAHOOOOO. Thanx so much for your time!!!

We were upgraded to the same catagory, but for the Oct 26th cruise.  Please report back and let us know what the rooms are like.  I am concerned about being under the Lido deck, the last cruise we were on we had a suite under the Lido deck and we could hear the crew dragging deck chairs in the middle of the night, getting ready for the next day.  Sad

We were on a different ship different cruise line, hope Carnival is smarter and more considerate.  Big Smile

Where did you find the pics?  Webshots?  Is that on the Carnival Website?  I would love to see the pictures of the room.  Thanx for your help.  Katrina

No such luck.  We sailed on the Glory last year with Carnival to the Western Carribean and were on the Panorama Deck at the Aft.  We received a 5:00 am wake up call every morning with the lounge chairs being drug across the deck.  It was something we were concerned about, however, we had a large group and wanted to keep everyone together and this was all we could get. Bring ear plugs if you'd like to sleep in!

Hope you don't mind me jumping in to your conversationSmile

That's what we were afraid of, oh well, ear plugs it is......did you by chance mention this to Carnival?  Unfortunately, my TA changed the booking before discussing it with me, since these rooms were considerably higher in price and considered an upgrade, he assumed that this was a good thing.  Thank goodness I am an early riser, just hope that they don't start at midnight!

Lovie, did you call your TA to have your cabin changed?  Maybe they can get you on deck 7 (Verandah) with an OBC.  We used to always book deck 8 aft, but now book 7 aft - starboard.  I recall that on 8, we would hear the music which was nice and we could fall asleep to it.  Also, we would hear occasional running and occasional chair scraping - it seemed most of that ended around 10 or so.

Also, noise will depend on where your cabin is - some areas on deck 8 don't have so much noise.  You can hear the music from the Lido deck if your balcony door is open on 7 or 8.

You should also look at the deck plan to see where your cabin is and what is above it.  The cabin you ended up with might be fine!   What cabin do you have?

PLEASE KEEP THE PRIDE IN LONG BEACH!!!

No, we just dealt with it knowing that they had to do the cleaning at some hour when the deck wasn't busy.  I got used to it as I'm a heavy sleeper...my husband on the other hand, isn't, however he too is an early riser...3:30am everyday so even with the noise, he still got to sleep in an hour and a half!

I made sure that for our cruise on the 19th that I have a deck between ours and the Lido deck!
